Just wanted to see what everyone thought of this price tag. Now dont get me wrong a love the wee man but it would be a cracking bit of business again by the board if we got £6m for him dont uz think?

Id be very tempted to sell!

I no alot of you will say we're already struggling on the strikers front but we could make a couple of good signings with that kind of cash, is it an option in the summer?

    What's your opinions?

You've got more chance of Bobo Balde signing another 4 year contract extension on his current wages.

Would all depend on whether or not we could get a replacement - a proper goalscorer who works his socks off more often than not - for £6m or less. I don't think we would.

Have to seriously think about it if a £6m plus bid was made.

Could get Chad evans on loan and big Janko in with that kind of money.

sell him and buy Bellemy, big Bobo's wages which are about to be free'd covers 1/2 his salary.
If it were possible, i'd sell him and use 1/2 the 6M for Boyd, can't see that happening though.

Bellamy's transfer fee has reached the £12 million plus mark already so forget about that one.

I want another quality striker brought in instead of selling, in my opinion, our most potent frontman.

    6 million YES

Forget Bellamy, 15 million quid, and one good game, two bad ones , and three injured is his pattern over the last 5 years

I think it would be a mistake, he aint even hit form yet, and he is worth more than this, so no way, i want him to stay, and listen, the huns are terrified of him every time he plays, he is a constant reminder to them of there failing to get him!:54:

Personally, i'm not sure about what i would do, but in response to your "why" question, one can but presume that the Vulture believes a 1000% return on your initial investment is good business...find it pretty hard to disagree with that.

Well we got him for pennies basicly so 6 million would be a good profit for us i would deal only if there was someone suitable to replace him.

We need to ignore what we paid for him.
What matters is what he's worth to us.
£6m? He could be replaced for that, but the replacement could also turn out to be a dud. Not worth the risk. I would want to keep him.

He's a decent player, don't get me wrong. But is he as good as Hartson or Sutton, who we paid around 6m for? I don't think so. Is he twice the player that Boyd is? Not to me.

I'm pretty sure we could replace him with a player of equal quality and then strengthen another part of the team as well.

McDonald isn't a key player to us is he? I don't think anyone at Celtic is indispensable at the moment. Last year i would have said Boruc and McGeady were but now I'd consider selling them at the right price. This is a good thing as we can sustain injuries and still keep on winning.

That's the difference between us and the huns at the moment, if you took Boyd and Mendes out of their team then they'd be screwed. I think you could take four players out of our team and we would have four players of roughly the same standard to come in.

If a bid that large comes in for a player of ours that hasn't really been on fire for us (yes i know he scored against Rangers and Man Utd but considering how much he has played this season he hasn't really beeen scoring), then you have to consider it, because he might well lose form completely next seasona and we are left with another guy on the books picking up wages and not playing.

How naive of you to assume that the £6 mil your saying would go back into the team. McDonald is one of the most important mambers of our squad already, he's been here a year and a half and is 24 years old, players of that ilk will NOT be sold m8.

I'm not sure Celtic would want to go down the road of selling one of the club's best strikers without having a replacement ready to step up. He's a major source of goals and also provides a lot more to the side.

It's very difficult finding a 20+ goals per season striker these days for £6 million quid, let alone one who is suited the the SPL and some of the butchers masquerading as defenders!

That means nothing. Would we have sold Larsson for £8m after a couple of years at the club, with the best still to come, simply because it would've meant a 1000% return on our initial investment? No.

That said, £6m for Scott McDonald would have to be looked at.

But the person who suggested Bellamy is way off the mark. We wouldn't be able to afford his wages, let alone the asking price set by West Ham - it's ludicrous. It'd be worth keeping Skippy.
