Bain to replace De Vries is a no-brainer.

Number one for the rest of the season.

Would definitely take him at the end of the season. Would be good having a back up keeper that would actually be an able deputy that you would feel comfortable with having in goal.

Would like Matt Ryan as first choice and Bain as second choice. They are both very able to play the way Brendan wants.

What a difference that would make to the team having a keeper that can pick a good pass that can start an attack and doesn’t invite needless pressure onto us which results in us losing possession.

Look at Man City for example with Ederson, he starts of so many good attacks for them and doesn’t panic and * himself when he gets the ball.

Didn't Bain say that he wanted to come here and win a permanent deal when he first came in?

Play the guy for the rest of the season.

What really impressed me about Bain was his confidence....even after loosing that early goal.

The only way to find out more is to play him.

He never once made me nervous the whole game.

Yea we're definitely signing him permanently. Long time coming, think back to the Deila days when we had debate after debate about him.

Celtic goalkeeper Dorus de Vries could be fit for Sunday's game against Motherwell but Brendan Rodgers believes that Scott Bain has given him something to think about.

The 26-year-old was signed as emergency cover in January after Craig Gordon was injured but the manner in which he came through his debut at Ibrox has given the Celtic manager a choice to make.

"This last week we gained a keeper," said Rodgers. "Scott was absolutely brilliant.

“That’s as good a debut as you’ll get. I’ve always liked Scott from his time at Dundee and he fitted the profile of how we play.

“Stevie Woods had seen him for longer than me and really liked him. He came in as a keeper if we needed him and the plan was to use him later on.

“But there’s no bigger test for a Celtic player to come in and play at Ibrox and that game in particular.

“He got past that test and was absolutely brilliant in every way. He was clean with his hands from the first cross, he was composed with the ball, his passes were clean, handling was good.

“Most of all was his temperament. He showed he can play for a big club. I’m not sure when I would have seen him, maybe in the last five games, but certainly know what he’s about now.

“I’m thrilled for him because of the journey he’s been on. That’s what you want - he’s hungry.

“He’s played 200-odd games, had to be part-time and do something else to be a footballer, but now he has his moment and doesn’t want to let it go past him.

“He might be 6ft but that confidence makes him grow."

It will be interesting to see whether or nor Celtic make the loan signing permanent - a number of clubs are believed to be pursuing Bain - but Rodgers is content that he will have a choice to make.

“You look at Connor [Hazard, out on loan] he’s got great potential but he needs to be out playing games," said Rodgers. "We’ll assess that again in the summer.

“The other two are at the latter stages of their career and Bain is right in the middle.

“I’m just delighted with his performance and from now and the end of the season we’ll have a wee look but he’s clearly put himself in a great position.

He must be a starter at least until Gordon gets back.
If he keeps up this level of performance it will be a no brainer to sign him.

Slightly butter fingered and dodgy distribution here and there..

    I prefer him to Doris.

Deserves to be number 1 until the end of the season.

Has a taigy look about him too, which I like.

I like the fact that he dosen't always play the ball out to one of our defenders, if the option isn't on he punts it up the park and usually finds a Celtic player.

I think this will end up being a fantastic piece of business.

What happened with him at Dundee, fallout with McCann was it?

Did McCann fall out with Scott Allan as well or did he just not want him?
