I would agree with that. As well as he has done for Aberdeen the past 2 seasons I do not see him being the starting 10 for us. That is clearly Rogic for me. Certainly I can see him playing as a 10 at times but everyone being fit I think he is more likely to be pushing to play in one of the wider spots in midfield. Certainly though he deserves a real shot next season rather then being sent on loan again. Last seasons loan move really has helped Ajer so hopefully Christie can do something similar.

Really don't think he's good enough, just don't see Ryan Christie taking us to any new level. Would be a massive backwards step losing Rogic and replacing him with Christie imo, wouldn't be up for that at all.

Not getting the Armstrong replacement talk either, totally different players.

Like the kid, he's talented, just don't think he's good enough to take us where we should be heading. Time will tell.

He does deserve a chance but in fairness I don't think He will be better than musonda, rogic, Forrest, ntcham etc. then again the loans done McGregor and ajer well so we shall see

17 goals and 15 assists in 51 games on loan at Aberdeen, quite a good record basically 1 seasons worth of games.

Hopefully he can come back next season and help us break down these teams that Aberdeen are be beating regularly.

Totally underrated by a large section of our support. Never had a run of games at Celtic. Genuinely think he will be our next to step up.

He’s definitely been Aberdeen’s main creative outlet this season for goals and assists, they look pish without him. Hopefully gets a chance when he returns.

How do we see him fairing next season? Will he be given chances? Will he be moved on?

I don't see where he fits in as a first choice.

Not going to displace Rogic and it's all about if he wants to play second fiddle.

Despite his stats with them whenever I've watched him in the big games he hasn't really impressed me. Still, I'd rather he was given a chance to prove himself.

Hope so. He has a lot of quality and technically is very good. He was unplayable at times for Aberdeen and scored some fantastic goals. Think towards the end of his loan he struggled for consistency but I really like him.

Reminds of McGregor in some ways. Both of them are very good technical players. Think Christie could really kick on given the oppurtunity and I think him and McGregor could have a very important role for Scotland as well in the future, maybe not under McCleish :giggle1: They both are very tidy players that would flourish under the right Scotland manager that wanted to play attractive football.

I don’t know if I can see them both playing in the same Celtic side unless McGregor plays deeper and Christie plays more advanced as one of the 3 behind the striker or if he gets rotated with Rogic when needed which is probably more likely. Will need to up his game big time to displace Rogic from the side on a regular basis. Can’t see him been first choice but he should get plenty of oppurtunities

Deserves his chance and think he will get a chance to prove himself but cannot see him displacing rogic or McGregor... Can't see him being a 1st choice winger either so more of a rotational player if he stays but I don't know

Might not be a popular opinion but I think it would be better if he is sold. The fact he is not as bad and useless as our deadwood is precisely a point for it as he is one one we can get good money for and have a good career elsewhere.

He is past the point where only having potential is enough. In fact, we had eight regular first teamers younger than him (Jozo, Ajer, Tierney, Dembele, Roberts, Edouard, Jack Hendry and Ntcham) There is no indication he will ever be as good and useful to the team as any of those players in the list before. He has already had a chance here, playing well at Aberdeen doesn't guarantee he will be good for Celtic as Hayes clearly shows, and in fact, from statistics, the few Aberdeen games I saw last season, and what people speak in Aberdeen forums he regressed from last season.

We have way too many good midfielders in the squad and while not being a bad player, he is not good enough for a Champions League group stage team.

I've said it a thousand times, we need at least 2 players for each position.
I see Brown/Eboue and Ntcham/McGregor as the midfield duo.
Rogic/Christie going in to next season as playing the No.10 role.

If we can find space for McGregor to be a star while fighting it out with Ntcham/Brown then I don't see why Christie can't find game time to impress fighting with Rogic.

Eboue needs to step it up though, and this is obviously with the notion that Arsmtrong will be for the off. Bitton also being used as a CB all of last season. So there is space for Christie.

McGregor hasn't really been fighting it out with those two though. Most he has performed well in he's been further up the park. If anything Christie will have to compete with him.

Should get a chance at being back up to rogic when he needs a rest after European games ,league cup etc. after signing a 5 year deal toms obv first choice so would be daft signing a player to come in and sit on the bench and become frustrated with lack of opportunities. Christie fits the mould perfectly. Hopefully he can flourish like mcgregor under brendans guidance and if all goes to plan we could have another young scottish celtic supporter doing well in our squad.
