Think he played rb in Austria too in one of the games. He's a good baller, really hopes he makes it seems to have a great attitude

That's not as bad then. Thought the 2 year deal being quoted the other day sounded a bit weird.

CELTIC new boy Jonathan Afolabi rejected a host of clubs to join the Hoops, according to reports.

Sports outlet The Athletic claim the forward had received offers from five different sides after leaving Southampton.

They say Afolabi was targeted by Stoke, Middlesbrough, Wolves, Crystal Palace and Lokomotiv Moscow after becoming a free agent.

But the Ireland Under-19 star opted for a move to Celtic in order to receive first-team opportunities as well as resonating with the club’s Irish connection.

The youngster became Neil Lennon’s fifth summer signing after sealing his move this week.

And Ireland coach Tom Mohan believes the attacker has all the attributes to become a top player.

He said: “Johnny was named in the team of the tournament in the Euros, so that goes to show the quality of player that he is.

He has all the attributes you would associate with the best centre-forwards.

He’s big, strong, he holds the ball up well, and he isn’t afraid to run at people. He’s positive and he scores goals.

“Everybody looks at him and sees he is a big, strong fella, but there is much more to his game than just power and pace.

As an Irishman, I'm very happy to see players like this lad and Luca Connell joining Celtic. There are a lot of talented players coming through the Irish ranks just now, delighted to see some of them joining my beloved Celtic. I think they'll see first team action sooner than many expect. Connell in particular is very highly rated.

The Irish twitter has it as a goal from Troy Parrott.

He scored 5 mins before Parrott but it was right dissallowed as he punched a cross a la maradona into the net. Think ref had given it until apparently afolabi told him he punched it

Was pleasantly surprised with him tonight . He caused Sweden all sorts of problems and he works his socks off . He was outstanding. He would learn a lot from edoaurd ..
