See this is where the dilemma is. I think we're better without him in the side. But when he's not, we are soft as *. Like embarrassingly soft.

Problem is we don't create enough or seem clinical when he plays, he is a great captain but I am glad we found form without him as a few seasons ago we were too dependent on him and when he got injured we fell to *.

Talk of him being finished is (again) premature. A good few times he outpaced and outmuscled guys 10 years his junior.

He has the same limitations he's always had, and is at a stage where he will begin to play less often, but he is clearly still an important part of the club.

Brendan Rodgers says he expects a decision from Scott Brown soon as the Celtic skipper continues to ponder a move to Australia.

Western Melbourne chief Maurice Bisetto claimed last week that the A-League outfit were "pretty close" to luring a marquee signing and felt Brown would fit the bill.

Rodgers has always said he will allow his captain to make his own mind up on the offer of a reported three-year deal awaiting him Down Under, insisting he would put the 33-year-old under no pressure to stay put at Parkhead if he felt a move would be better for him and his family.

The pair held talks this week and Rodgers - speaking after his side kicked off their William Hill Scottish Cup defence with a 3-0 win over Airdrie - admitted he is still in the dark over which way Brown will decide.

But he suggested the former Scotland midfielder was close to revealing his verdict.

"I had a long chat with Scott in the week, which obviously will be private," said the Celtic boss. "I think he knows that some point fairly soon he'll have to make a decision, and he wants to make a decision to be fair.

There's been a lot going on for him. It's important for him in his football life that he finds that stability.

"Of course he loves it here and we've given him time to make the best decision for him and his family. I'd think in the near future he'll have a decision either way.

"Naturally, the respect I have for him, we want to give him that time. But I'd be very hopeful that he would be staying here.

Thought he looked very leggy v Hamilton at times, the boy left him for dead in the 1st and he just got back in time to get a tackle in...

With everyone fit he doesn’t start.. yet his leadership value is hard to put a price on..

Player/Coach role would be ideal as it’s obvious his playing career is nearing the end..

Thought myself that he wasn’t getting to balls infront of players like he used to, really can’t see him lasting past the summer but we should definitely bring in guys with experience and leadership because we can’t lose our two most senior players with 2 massive seasons coming up

End of the season might be a good time for Brown to leave, with his head held high and it would allow us to free up a big chunk of wages. Still think he’d be a loss, but I’d hate to see him get to the stage Lustig is at, struggling to contribute to the level he did previously.

I think he’s stuck in 2 minds, he knows he wont play a big in the next 2 seasons on the way to 10IAR where as in Australia he’ll play every game, be on a good wage plus a lot better climate.

I hope when Rogic is back to play we go back to McGregor sitting next to Christie, we never looked weak in the middle with them 3 because of the pace they play at, technical ability and energy.

His legs have definitely gone this time for me..

Love him but you can see it in his face and play that he's struggling more..

Should be offered any backroom role he wants if he decides he wants to stay. His leadership qualities, as mentioned...are invaluable and what a role model and great he's turned out to be..

    Legend..
