I know we should be spending a good chunk of money on a right back, Lustig as back up is fair enough but I see him being our main right back if Lennon gets the job.

I’ve just got this horrible feeling that our board are gonna give Lennon the job and people like Izzy and Lustig will get new deals and kids if game time next season.

For some reason I think Lawwell is going to give the next manager next to nothing to add to the squad.

I would definitely like to see Filip stay. On the downside, that might mean we spend on one CB only. Or none!

Would love to see him back next season. Im sure he has a sound understanding playing with jozo and Ajer is very organised and positionally astute.

With Lennon breathing new life into Jozo, having Benkovic, Jozo and Ajer as three centre backs next season would be a great start and makes that rebuilding job that bit less difficult

Would solve our centre back issue for another year, but's it like putting a plaster over the cracks. Guess it all depends if Lennon is here next season or not

In honesty, if we don't have this and we go into the market looking for 2 CB we're going to be held ransom something terrible. With him in for the year we'd only need a RB for a pretty solid defence, and we could fill out the CB position if someone at the right price comes available, or at Christmas. I'd be in favour of this loan...

This loan, RB, CF... keep all our main players... solid window for us... get LW in too, great... pad out with back-up LB, epic...

Edit: although, if the loan isn't nailed on before the first week or 2 of the window I'd be very cagey about it... don't need to be approaching the qualification with a 'Will he, won't he' mess on our hands

    * will end up poaching Lennon as an under 18 coach.

    Wee fake-tanned *, I hate him!

Filip Benkovic has opened up on his future and revealed he’d love to have his loan extended at Celtic.

The Croat enjoyed an impressive first half of the season but an injury and Brendan Rodgers’ departure proved setbacks.

Rodgers told the Sunday Mail he is ready to send Benkovic back to Celtic next season.

The Leicester City boss is happy for the 21-year-old to continue his development north of the border because the Premier League side currently have four central defenders - Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, Wes Morgan and Caglar Soyuncu.

And Benkovic said: "I read the comments from Brendan Rodgers. At the moment I really do not know what will happen when my loan expires.

"I've spoken to the sports director at Leicester and he's told me everyone at the club will soon sit down and decide what is best for me.

When Brendan Rodgers left Celtic, he sent me a lot of nice words and told me he was very pleased with my performances.

Whatever he decides, I will go along with.

"I have been really pleased with my season at Celtic. Of course, you can always do better, but I have played a lot of games at a very high level. Everyone at Celtic has told me they are happy with me

"I have spoken to Neil Lennon. He told me that he would like me to stay at Celtic for another season.

"I must admit, when I first signed for Celtic, I didn't expect it to be as good as it has been.

During my time at Celtic, I have gained great experience. The Scottish Premiership is extremely intense and it was great playing in Europe. It's helped me a lot.

"I believe this year has helped me prepare for the English Premier League."

And Benkovic, in an interview in Croatian publication Sportske Novosti, insists he's desperate to end the season at Celtic on a high.

He said: "If we beat Hearts in the Scottish Cup Final, it will be the first time in history any club has won a treble Treble. The fans would love that.

"We had a bit of a celebration after the Aberdeen match where we won the league. We had some fun, but we are waiting for this Final with Hearts.

If we win that, we will have the biggest celebration!

"It's been part of a great year for me."

Izzy contract rumours as well. Always concerns me when interim managers are making decisions/promises and the likes to players for the future.

Keep him since Jozo will no doubt end up injured again at some point, buy in a quality experienced centre half and right back then we’re sorted at the back.

Big man is quality just needs a run of games and stay off the treatment table.
