    * over it is extreme..

He was everywhere like a terrier but I didn't think he did too much on the ball. Was excellent off it though but no good enough for us..

Lennon Miller isn't overhyped whatsoever. He's going all the way. Stature. Range of passing. Skill. Composure. Can boss a game and handle big games at a young age..

McCowan will step up but it won’t be to Celtic, nowhere close to our level. He’s the type of player that the sheep should be after before an English championship club snaps him up because he’ll be well on their radar now.

Lennon Miller is a definite maybe. He’ll have options but if we actually want him he’ll be a Celtic player.

I'm another fan of Lennon Miller, he really looks to have something special about him. reminds me of James Maddison when he was at Aberdeen on loan. Just seems a level above the players around him with his vision and movement.

Gotta be one of our targets this summer surely.

And McKinlay (going back a while) and Hayes. Jamie Vardy was playing non-league til he was 25 and ended up winning the EPL and playing for England.
Age doesn't matter, old or young. Ability is all that matters.

He's nowhere near the levels of Robson or Hartley though.

I don't know how you can be sure about that. I'm not saying he'd definitely make it with us, I just think for what you'd have to pay he's shown enough over the season and against us and the huns in particular to be worth a punt.

I highly doubt we would sign McCowan although I have been very impressed with him in the two games against us and them. He is busy on the ball but also carries quality in what he does with it.

The question would be could he scale it for us against packed defences? He has another year on his deal so you would imagine Dundee would look for a decent fee given he has 9 goals and 5 assists in 32 games this season which for a centre midfielder from Dundee is good going.

The only scenario I would see us sign someone like McCowan is we recognise how big a rebuilding job we have and despite having a lot of money in the bank we need to buy half a new team plus some depth that could be relied on. We spend a decent some on 4 or 5 first team players and decide to loan out Holm, Lawal, Kwon etc or take a fee for some of them. O’Riley goes and we bring in McCowan as a back up to a Hatate type player as that is who he probably is most similar to based on our current midfield. I am not saying he is anywhere near that level but plays in a similar manner.

The other consideration is if we were to do that are we better buying Miller or Watson who are younger and both likely have a higher ceiling? I guess you could opt to buy one of those and leave them where they are or even both.

I actually am not convinced Watson is that good a footballer, he has good energy and has scored a few goals, particularly against us but is almost a bit like a Peter Pawlett of Aberdeen from back in the day. His on ball contribution is pretty poor, as is his passing but full of running and energy. It is difficult to say though as Killie play a very agricultural brand of football. Balls hardly on the ground, get it long into big Vassell or Watkins and play from there which is totally opposite of our approach so it’s hard to tell how he would do if you put him into a team trying to play a quick passing game.

Miller is the pick of the bunch for me, he has a lot of talent and looks beyond his years. When he fills out too he looks like he can become a real player. However where Watson and McCowan are more attacking he is more deeper and defensive.

All in we need to be looking at signing more established players alongside any of those three above. Guys who will command a starting place in our team.

Barry Robson was quality and so was Hartley..

    They were levels above McCowan..

There ability became more evident once we'd signed them. Who knows how McCowan would look with higher quality players around him.

Over Iwata? Totally different players. McCowan wouldn't excel as a deep lying midfielder who is brought on to see out a game.

    Holm has potential.

    Kwon has no future here.

    Neither does McCowan.

Genuinely had never heard of McCowan until about 3 or 4 weeks ago.

Nah they were technically excellent long before we signed them..

Both influential players with cultured left and right foots who would take mist set pieces and score from a good few of them..

McCowan has been excellent for them but he's nowhere near Robson and Hartley standard and nowhere near what's required for us..

Imagine Holm at Dundee for the season? Would get rave reviews and be their best player..

Hopefully we see that next season!

Holm has a lot of potential. He needs a loan next season. Big time.

He has hardly been seen since the return from the winter break which doesnt bode well.

Looks as if he might have bags of ability but he has done effectively nothing here yet.

As much as I like confidence in a player, his post after his old firm appearance raised a wee red flag for me.

Couldn't give a * as long as you back it up.

Needs a loaned for the whole season to see what he can do then call it next summer.
