Jack Cork (Chelsea)

Celtic have been linked with a £300,000 move for Chelsea kid Jack Cork.
The 19-year-old is thought to have impressed Parkhead scouts last season when he was on loan at Championship side Scunthorpe.
Although he is highly rated by the Premiership outfit, the defender fears he'll have to wait too long for an opportunity to play first-team football at the London giants and is keen to try and secure a move over the summer.
Strachan is looking for a couple of defenders before the beginning of the season and could be ready to try and tempt Cork to try his luck in the SPL, although Fulham, West Ham and Sheffield Wednesday are also interested.

Not heard much about him but could be a good investment. Only 19 and has been capped at every junior level for England. £300,000 isnt too hefty, I say go for it!

For the last 2 years, a host of decent clubs in England have been "reported" to have interest in him, and with good reason - athletic young buck with a great future ahead of him - even good in Fitba Manager!!

Would be delighted to see him here - a very realistic signing too, given that he would get a chance, and the lure of CL football would be an attractive proposition to him..

He'll still be 3/4k a week (same as Tamas) if he's a Chelsea youth though, i suppose...

Worthwhile investment though - get him on a 3 year contract, tie him down after half of it for a long period of time and it would be a sound move financially as well..

Sounds good but we would probably need to sign him then loan him out if he is for the future and should we not be concentrating on players to buy that would step right into a first team place?

A good point dude, but a team that can afford to live without Boulahrouz without any difficulties will not be playing Cork any time soon - same as Ben Sahar who IS on loan, but he is rate even higher...

I think we could get this signing done, with possible "extras" to the cost depending upon appearances etc...

I wonder if they'll loan us Shaun Wright Phillips for a year though - THAT would be a boost...

not the defender we were all looking for. but for £300k worth a punt. could be a good invesment.

i would hope this is a signing like Mizuno, in the case of actual length at the club before threatening the starting XI for places.

could really do with a signing. a good signing.
