Santana seems like GG, brutish striker, moody , nothing flashy, just gets the ball in the net. Carbon copy really, why not give him a chance

 

Not opposed to having too many Japanese players in the squad but....that's quite a number..only thinking if ange ever left would most of these guys just want to move on as well, taking out a chunk of our squad

 

Bring Tam Suzuki home.

 

We could earn ourselves a reputation with the players enjoying their time here and the effort we make to help them settle in, could be a market we keep going back to even after Ange is away if we build some links over there.

 

Maeda could be away this window or next if Southampton are sounding out

Seems slightly more all-round than GG. A few assists in his highlights.

The problem I see is- he knows he's coming to a totally foreign country, aware he's a temporary back-up. Having been to Portugal, he's then done a typical thing for average Brazilian players and went to Japan.

I'd take him as a backup striker, and my thinking is that Ange plans that role for him, if this interest is genuine. But would Santana agree to come? He's Brazilian, not Japanese, so the support structure isn't there.

 

Maeda only plays for Boss, he's going nowhere unless Ange does

 

Suzuki, yes.

Santana, no.

 

Suzuki looks like a good project to get in, something we’re probably needing looking into next season for attacking midfield. Imagine Turnbull will be away.

 

Santana doesn’t look like an Ange player, think that’s the media stirring that one.

 

I'm unimpressed by Santana tbh. Seems like a stopgap signing. I'm intrigued by Suzuki though.

I'd be all for Suzuki. He looks like a completely different type of midfielder to what we have. Powerful runner in the middle of the park, who's an excellent dribbler and seems to get stuck in.

Santana, I just don't understand at all. 29 years old. Looks a carbon copy of GG. I'd rather just give GG the money to stay. Are we really upgrading on him here? You could have made the same argument for Cho but we knew that Cho was only 23 and there was room for improvement under Ange. Are 29 year olds going to massively improve under Ange? Can't really see it.

 

Starting to dislike the over reliance on 1 market. We seem to get fixated on 1 market every now and then. Maybe that's because we don't have the resources to do our due diligence on multiple markets at once?

 

I said it in the GG thread, but if this goes through it makes me think management are not keen on GG behind the scenes. Total speculation on my part obviously.

 

yeah doesn't sound like we are getting rid of him because we want an upgrade. Wonder if he is causing a bit of drama
