Hmmm. Not great stats at all for Suzuki who according to Transfermarkt played most of his games last season up front. Still young though.

Santana is an odd one too. 29 and only really performed in the lower league in Portugal and Japan.

Suzukis a bit underwhelming but Santana stats seem decent from 2017 onwards , Suzuki seems a utility type .

Santana actually looks good in this video good link up and cracking shot on him , only thing I would be against is he’s 29 but if it’s cheap enough

Seems Suzuki has been called up for the senior Japan squad and is relatively well regarded as a prospect..

Fair amount of football as well for his age (only turned 21 in October), over 90 appearances.

Yep, just read that. Seems highly rated, and plays all across the front line apparently, including in the 8, so that partly explains his lack of goals.

Could be Ange sees him as an 8 in his system. He said in the article I read that his best attribute is receiving the ball in pockets and advancing it, exactly what our 8s do.

Santana seems like a stop-gap option. I've got an Abildgaard vibe about him. Good player that isn't Ange's first pick, and won't be used much.

I'm sure Santana was named in J League team of the year along with Iwata. Will need to check.

Edit: He was. Finished top scorer aswell for a team that got relegated.

    The Brazilian GG? :fear:

From the wee bit I just watched i think Suzuki looks quality..

Quick, ball carrying type of 10/winger who's only just turned 21..

Santana definitely a stop gap but a really good one at that. He's 29 but physical, links play well, decent pace and can finish with all sorts of goals. Actually seen him before in a couple games I've had bets on..

I wonder if Santana would be a loan with an option to buy given his age? See how he does kinda thing as he's likely no a top target of ours. We may find it easier to bring our top one in in the summer..

That's encouraging. If Santana comes in as reliable second choice between now and the end of the season I'm fine with that.

The more I read about Suzuki the more excited I am. He's clearly one of our main targets in that position as we've not been linked with any other 8s/wingers.

    Same. He looks proper..

Lovely turns out of trouble and glides with the ball at pace. Few nice finishes and setups..

A versatile player that is a bit different to anything we have just now. There was talk Ange wanted someone to replace what Rogic brought to us. Isn’t like for like but has some of his attributes..

That'll be 3 out of 4 players if he signs in this window that can play a variety of positions. Useful as *..

Aye it looks to me like our top target we can't get. Maybe it's Cho, Oh, or someone else...* knows. Jackie clearly wants to go and we probably need to strike now to maximise our fee, so we're moving quickly to get Santana in for a short term deal..

    Frightening potential..

First touch. Close control. Movement on the ball. Low centre of gravity. Has that killer pass fo unlock a defence and makes things happen..

Looks like he'd add to us moving forward..

If I remember correctly, Urawa wanted to sign both Giakoumakis and Santana. It seems like they'll get Giakoumakis and we might get Santana.

I know they don’t have great track record in our league but theirs always something special about having a Brazilian in the squad especially a cultured tanned one that would look like ronaldo nazario

Nothing against signing a slightly older player if they don't cost too much and can do a job, mooy being the perfect example of that this season, not everyone we bring in needs to be young with sell on value. That said, the young boy looks a talent that would fit in that trading model.

Good to see we haven't put all our eggs in one basket, while the media circus with Cho and his * agent/club has been happening we're still quietly going about our business elsewhere.
