So , Im playing for my local football team in the u16A team, which is the second u16 team behind the u16 premier team.
I had a small falling out with the manager last year over something very small and I'm not sure he's forgiven me about it.
I'm a centre forward and I finished joint top scorer on our team last year on 12 goals from 10 starts and 13 sub appearances.

Anyhow, the dilemma is whether or not i should drop to the u15 premier team where I'm fairly sure I'd be starting every game or stick with my current team. The team I'm on at the moment is full of great lads that I'm really good friends with, and although I'm good friends with 2 lads on the u15 premier team I'd hate to leave all the craic i have with the lads behind.

    Help me :54: :56:

if your still eligible drp to under 15s. playing above your age is pointless.

i was playing two years above my age group at rugby which is fine until you hit u-16/u-17.
once you face guys that age, physically it's very hard to compete.

drop down an age group and you'll play more which is only going to help your development

Do you go to football for the craic or do you see yourself getting somewhere?
If you are only there for the fun then stick with you mates, your still getting games.
If you see yourself getting somewhere you would be better off dropping down to get more games where you would also be probably playing at a higher level of football.

I play in the NDSL in Ireland, North Dublin Schoolboys League

Well obviously I'd love to even end up in some league of Ireland reserve team. I'm a real poacher, i scored 2 or 3 good goals last year. The rest of them were right place right time which is what I'm good at. I'm also one of the fastest in the team and can open up a backline with a simple one, two.

If i was in the u15 team i feel i could score near 20 goals in the 20 odd games a year. I'm not sure where I'd be more likely to come across a scout though.

surely you're more likely to get scouted at the premier team?

Im on the u16a Mullingar Athletic team in the ndsl. The team i might join is u15 premier Mullingar Athletic in the ddsl.

Yeah i was u14 last year and it skipped a year.

Found out today funnily enough, we're playing the u15 premier team on sunday in a friendly. Should be interesting only my feckin calf is awful tight

The team im currently playing for wouldnt start me eventhough my old manager kept asking them to but everytime they gave me a run out i would have one goal and that was to prove them wrong...
We played a team called Sunnyside and they didnt have enough players so my manager asked me to play for them so i jumped at the chance to prove him wrong, I did right back and ran the whole pitch and scored....

You've probably already guessed i started every match after that and still do today and i dont plan on losing a place on the team tbh :50:

The thing is though bud im just back from training for u16s so it's too late to switch to u15. If on Sunday I'm asked to play for the u15s Id jump at the chance. Its too late now though. If i dont start on Sunday and get a poxy few mins i'll ask the u15s manager about joining them

Better to play with 16 year olds

Play with better players being tested every day and you will become a better player

Go to the ddsl premier team its a far better standard and youve a much better chance of getting scouted, its not too late at all

I'll se what it goes like tomorrow. I might not even play because my calf's killing me and I don't want to make it any worse.

If we get beat tomorrow theres not much point in going to the u15 team
