Cheers for the report Crow, sounds like a good game from McCart who has looked a good player when I've seen him on TV. Good to hear young Dembele didn't look out of place too, says a lot about our youth system.

Couldn't help but laugh when I saw the size of him compared to Aitchison coming on.

    Good to see though.

Read a comment from someone at the game and he heard someone shout,
"FFS Just pass it to the wean."

Fox Soccer website and a number of other foreign news outlets are carrying the story of tonight's debut in the U 20's game.

Unreal amount of attention on this.

Yeah it's all over twitter, I've seen most of our fans saying let's leave him be and not over hype the kid but with today's social media that is impossible. He is now an Internet sensation, the next wonder kid

At first I thought he was clearly there because of who his old boy is but he is an impressive player.

    Definitely has a chance IMO.

I thought that too for a couple games then I changed my mind to his old boy has been coaching him well. Must be great for him having his dad as a coach as he can quiz him about any tactics any time it crosses his mind.

Difficult to avoid the hype with this kid, he must be something special if Celtic are recognising and promoting him this early, you don't usually even know the names of players below u18 level.

In fairness to him and the club there are a very specific set of circumstances why he's playing, national games and the fact the 17's are playing tomorrow.

Regardless, he didn't have to come on and he was trusted to!

CELTIC’S tradition of bringing through young talent took a further step forward last night (Monday) when 13-year-old Karamoko Dembele made his debut for the Hoops Development Squad.

With less that 10 minutes left on the clock of Celtic’s 3-1 win over Hearts in the SPFL Development League, Tommy McIntyre introduced Dembele to play in place of the club’s youngest ever goal-scorer, Jack Aitchison, and the teenager didn’t look out of place as the young Celts saw out the game to capture the three points, thanks to a brace from Jamie McCart and a strike from Broque Watson.

Young Karamoko joined the Scottish champions in July 2013 but stole the imagination of every Celtic fan earlier this year when video footage of his incredible skills at the St Kevin’s Boys Academy Cup Under-13 competition hit the internet, with the youngster displaying an outstanding array of dribbling, passing and shooting capabilities.

Last night’s debut in the SPFL Development League saw Dembele become a top trending topic on Twitter as the internet was once again set alight with comments of support for the youngster and praise for the club’s Academy coaches for introducing him to play.

Dembele was also joined on the field by another promising prospect at Celtic, Kieran McGrath, 15, who signed for the Hoops last summer despite interest from a host of English clubs.

Celtic’s Head of Youth, Chris McCart, said the club was delighted for Dembele to make his debut but said his progression through the ranks at the Hoops, along with the other talented teens the club boasts, must remain at a measured pace to ensure his complete development.

“We were all delighted to see Karamoko make his debut for the Development Squad last night against Hearts in what proved to be an entertaining game,” he said.

“The fact that he was playing against other players seven years his senior gives an indication of the quality this young boy possesses and it was also fitting that he came on for Jack Aitchison, the club’s youngest-ever goal scorer.

“What we need to remember, though, is that Karamoko is just 13-years-old. He was given a chance to play last night on merit, as was Kieran, but it is very important that we continue their development at a measured pace.

“Karamoko is still a young boy and has a lot of growing to do, both physically and mentally. The coaches at our Under 13 and 14 levels have been fantastic in nurturing his potential but it is crucial that we do not push him too far, too soon.

“He has a lot of hard work ahead of him to make it to the top and we won’t rush that, but we also know Karamoko, and the other talented young players we have here, is at the perfect place to continue his progress and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for this young player.”

CELTIC’S returning youth internationalists have been restored to the starting XI for Tommy McIntyre’s Development Squad for today’s game against Partick Thistle.

The Hoops will clash with the Jags at Firhill at 1pm in the Development League and have been able to call on the services of Mark Hill, Regan Hendry, Anthony Ralston and PJ Crossan, who were all involved in Scotland duty during the week and missed Monday’s 3-1 win over Hearts at Cappielow.

Leo Fasan keeps his place in goal after an excellent showing against the Jambos, while young striker Jack Aitchison also keeps his spot up front, partnering with the returning PJ Crossan.
