On a delightful Spring morning on my local Farmland where there are 2 Small Marshes between 5.30-7.30am with Ruby Roo of course who had a Great time I was delighted to see 2 singing ever so handsome Summer Plumaged Reed Buntings, a family party of Stonechat, the 2 Proud parents and their 3 fully grown young.
Also 2 singing Sedge Warbler were seen and the spot of the morning a fine singing Reed Warbler, I really had to battle to get eventual good views, with Ruby Roo saying hello to a Wee Spaniel as I was trying to get good views:84:
We went out again 9.30-11.30 am on the Main local patch but though we had a good time it was very quiet on the Wildlife front, I did predict to my nephew we would win 4-1 though:36:

Yes back in time for that certain game:84:

I saw a couple of Roe Deer yesterday , quite close to the town . They were grazing in a field , but ever watchful of dangers .

We actually ran towards it with the cameras but it bolted off into the water.

On reflection, that was a pretty stupid thing to do...

Yesterday while going to a Brilliant Village Butcher in a Snowdonia Village with a good mate in his Van I well spotted a fine Red Kite flying quite low over another Village on the way, he stopped the Van and we enjoyed this fine bird. I did actually say in his garden being going we may well see a Red Kite:84:

Going into Iceland near Bridgeton(yes, unfortunately I live near that shithole) this morning, I saw, and heard, a stunning Oystercatcher. I do love their call.
Yesterday morning I was going into the local butchers when a beautiful Kestrel was making a racket. It landed on a roof nearby. I stood and watched it when one of the butcher's came out to ask what I was looking at. You'd have thought I'd given him a million pounds as he'd never seen one before. He was amazed that these birds where in the city. He seemed really excited to see it. Hopefully I've planted a wee seed about the beauties of nature.

A few from midweek, I bagged my first sighting and (bad) picture of a Cuckoo, I've often heard but never seen one, I was in Doorly yesterday and could hear him singing in the woodland behind me, next thing is he's flying high above, i managed to get a few shakey shots before he/she disappeared, likewise the Kestrel, he was way off in the distance in poor late evening light, the last pic is of 2 Otters i spotted on the far side of Lough Gill near the centre of town, again too far away for a decent shot, that's all my excuses used up now:56:so a good week for species so far, but a bad week for photography, although i did get some fine pics of a lovely Brown Hare today at Raghly Harbour :50:
