Loads of Ringed plovers and it's fun watching them flying around in a huge group. They all take off at the same time and land on the same rock.

Lovely. They said they came onto the land at night generally and sit on trees to hide from ground predators. Also they eat small birds and animals.

    9 House Sparrow
    1 Goldfinch
    2 Dunnocks
    2 Starlings
    2 Blue *

Today 2 Long Tailed * came on my feeders, why not yesterday ffs!:31::56:

Thanks Sioux, it's a joy to sit and watch them for a while, there's a lot of power play going on between them and it gets a bit tasty at times, i never heard a Swan growl before this week, it's a bit strange hearing such a lovely bird making a noise so aggressive.

    Lovely pictures Sioux.

Ty :50: and no. I rarely use it to be honest. It's a bit heavy and the weather hasn't been conducive to taking the tripod out. If I'm honest I'm a bit disappointed with it. It doesn't have anywhere near the clarity my little Canon does. I take cracking photos with the wee one. I think the bigger one having a longer zoom isn't exactly a bonus as I haven't really been able to take a good shot at distance.....as I said the clarity and colour isn't there. I'm not sure if I can improve my shots by playing with the settings and at the moment it seems a lot of footering about. I never actually alter anything on the wee camera as I just point and shoot and photos come out really well. I don't know if me and this new camera are going to have a good relationship but I suppose time will tell. Maybe when the better weather comes in and there's less wind and rain I will be able to toy with it. I'm not the most technological person and it takes me ages to get used to things. * knows I can't even put the TV on there's that many remotes :56:

This is a cracking wee theraputic thread. I can't say I'm really that clued up on bird species, but I do love to have a nosey at all the brilliant pictures you all post.

It is indeed :50: It's a place to escape all the other madness :86: I didn't have a clue about birds and things either until I got a camera and started posting in here. I'm fortunate that I get to see a lot of bird species but not so much with mammals. It gets you out and about :50:

I was standing at my kitchen window this morning, just staring into space when a Wren flew onto one of the plant pots, amd started looking for food. I watched it for a good 5minutes. It's the longest amount of time I've had watching a Wren. Stunning little bird
