A few from around the Docks this morning, I've been heading to the Docks most mornings as there is a King Fisher around, i've seen him perched on the same fence post twice, one of those times was this morning but i just can't get near for a picture without spooking him,

 

Took these a couple of months ago , I'm guessing Geese ?

 

We've all been there Johnie. Although stunningly beautiful, Kingfishers can be * to photograph. Great photos, again, Johnie.

Brilliant pictures Johnie The small brown bird is a Dunnock,first year bird at a crazy angle and the light has caught it pretty crazy,had to think about that one The Diver is a First Year Winter Great Northern Diver,notice the bulk of the bird and the thick bill.Divers can be a nightmare to identify in winter or first year plumage at the best of times.The Red Throated Diver is smaller slimmer,has much slimmer bill and is slight upturned.But like i said Divers can be a nightmare.
The Grebe is a winter plumaged Great Crested Grebe.The thing about Divers and Grebes is that their breeding and none breeding plumage is so so different.Well i need a lay down after all that Johnie

 

Oh today on the way back with Ruby Roo after her visit to the Vets i got my first Chough of the year,6 of them on my local patch,excellent close up views of these very handsome red necked and red billed crows,but as i got my camera phone out they retreated out of range,typical for me with my very basic lens
