My daughter and I were at Muirshel Park one Saturday morning. It's a great place to see Cuckoo and Wheatear. The drive to the visitor centre is a couple of miles long, and quite narrow. This day we saw a Buzzard on a lamppost. Not that high up, so would've made a superb photo. But there was a couple of cars behind us and we couldn't pull over, so to say Caroline was angry about missing out on the best photo oppurtunity is putting it mildly. I could see the Buzzard still there as I drove on.
We did see some great Cuckoo and Wheatear action, and saw our very fist Tree Pipit, but the lost opputunity of a great Buzzard photo was all Caroline could talk about on the way home.

First morning back on the school run ( @tarboltontim ) im driving along the wee country road towards Hayes garden land , and about 75 yards in front of me a deer appears over the hedge line , one bounce / prance and it was over the opposite one and disappeared into the hay .. blink and I would have missed it . Gets home and having a cup of tea at the kitchen window and the pigeons were at the seeds on the ground and there was that striking brown and white one I mentioned before . Not saw it in months and thought it was a gonner , camera looked out now .

My wife, daughter and I were watching the lightning the night before last. Then we noticed something flying really fast by our window,
This happened a few times, then one flew by a wee bit slower than the rest. They were Pipistrelle Bats. We have a lamp post near our bedroom window, and the Bats were feeding on the moths flying about the light. As someone who is terrified of moths, this was something I enjoyed watching, (from the safety of my bedroom window). Great viewing.

You know sometimes you see something and you think I need to take this photo and this was one of those times. It just seemed apt. Who knows whether that memorial was placed there because the setting sun always came down over that spot.
