Red Kites are often seen in flocks cool Bhoy, sometimes several dozen or more when there is food around.
And like Buzzards they like to soar together. And of course both species can equally seen on their own or in pairs.
Quite a lot of people are taken by surprise when they see Raptors flying in numbers together:50:

you must have a lot of patience BFL :50: cracking pictures .

I tend to not get those wee birds very often , the starlings seem to monopolise the seeders and fat balls , but the argueing and fighting of several starlings trying to get on one thing is quite amusing at times .
Ive not saw it but one day I came home and the fat ball feeder was on the ground broken , I just took it too many starlings but the fella next door told me it was the seagulls jumping up and pecking it till it broke , inventive .
Another seagull story , as youse know I stopped feeding them in the garden , they are just bullies to the other birds , crows stand up to them tho . anyhoo at the bottom of one of the trees ive got wee pots of different flowers just for colour , one morning all the pots upended and scattered , strange I thought re-potted them .. next morning the same , and the next and the next , I was up early one morning and tilted the blinds ….. 2 seagulls scattering the pots again , mystery solved . I like to think that was my payback for not feeding them … I moved the pots and it stopped .

House straight behind my back garden is a four in a block with central chimney ( feel sorry for the folk living in the bottom houses as they look out their front window and all they see Is an eight foot wall ( was told the wall was a requirement to shield the private back gardens ) anyhoo I think its the same 2 seagulls that nest there every year , see them back and forth checking their property lately , but when the chicks hatch thats when the crows start harassing them , divebombing the nest , female screeching the place down , the male chasing them away , goes on for days . My secret weapon for not allowing seagulls from nesting on our chimney and flat roof of the kitchen extension is .. kids windmills , they dont like them and eventually move on .
If anybody has ever stayed near a nesting couple you know the reason you move them on , you step out your door and they go fekkin mental , swooping and * every where , then 2 become 22, so , sorry not near my backdoor thanks .
2 across the back garden never go in my garden now next doors yes but they stay away now .

Scotia, I've never had that problem with Gulls, so maybe that's why I think they're super cool looking birds. I love how crazy and brave they are, but I can understand someone not liking them if they've had all the problems that you've mentioned.
