I don't have a problem with loan's whatsoever. They've served us well many a time..

With this large overhaul and transitional period, we were always gonna need to bring 2 or 3 loan's in at some point to fill the squad and give us option's..

The disappointment for me is no that this boy isn't a player, it's just that we've needed a right back since January and here we are, just about getting one in on loan before any other * there.....when I had my hope's set on Juranovic..

If we add Couto and then Juranovic after, then I'll have no complaints at all. I'll be over the moon..

Whit.. I must have missed when we signed quite a few fullbacks this season.

Again, kicking the can down the road doesn't solve the issue we have once the CL qualifiers come around next season.. as I said, potential to go back to square one.

Loans are fine. But the fact is we've had months to sort out a new right back. If all that waiting is just to get a guy on loan, who we could no doubt have got weeks ago, then it's a farce. This guy looks good and I wouldn't be against bringing him in, but we need to be signing a right back on a permanent deal.

If Juranovic is available for £3/4 million then go out and pay the money.

Hopefully we won't have qualifiers next season as winner goes straight into the CL.

But yes, I get your point.

There's nothing wrong with loans in theory, if you use them the right way; the problem is we don't.

Our strike rate with them is absolutely hoaching and we rarely follow up the loan deals with a permanent signing, even when they do go on to be a success.

    Last 30 loans:
    Kenny - Failure
    Laxalt - Failure
    Duffy - Failure
    Moi (x2) - Success, Unsigned
    Bauer - Failure
    Forster - Success, Unsigned
    Toljan - Failure
    Weah - Failure
    Burke - Failure
    Benkovic - Success, Unsigned
    Arzani - Failure
    Musonda - Failure
    Edouard - Success, Signed
    Roberts (x2) - Success, Unsigned
    Blackett - Failure
    Guidetti - Debatable, Unsigned
    Wakaso - Failure
    Denayer - Success, Unsigned
    Berget - Failure
    Noring - Failure
    Gershon - Failure
    Kamenar - Failure
    Miku - Failure
    Brozek - Failure
    El Kaddouri - Failure
    Keane - Success, Unsigned
    Braafheid - Failure
    Kamara - Success, Unsigned

That's a 1 in 3 strike rate for successful loan signings and a 1 in 30 strike rate from turning those loan spells into a permanent signing.

Is this some sort of dealing between Celtic and man city. You can have itakura on a loan to buy but you can take couto too and you have to play him..Celtic could be seen suddenly as a very attractive place for city young players for loan, considering the way Ange plays.

Going against the grain a bit but I think he would be an excellent signing. No need to isolate and will be used to playing the inverted full back role as I'm sure Pep has all the youth teams play the same system as the first team.

Haha I missed the word players. Meant we’ve signed a few players and still have a few to sign.

Like I said I don’t mind a rb on loan if they are in now, we need a rb, if it’s a loan and solves that problem for just now then fair enough. We still need a left back, striker, centre back, winger and maybe another striker. That’s quite a lot of signings on top of hart, Starfelt, McCarthy, Kyogo, Abada and the younger players.

I agree it’s not ideal, but I’d be ok with it, just having another right back for this season would keep me happy.

However, I’d be annoyed if we pay a large loan fee for the player and we could have signed someone like Juranovic or someone else for that price instead.

He looks class, Im no doubting it tbh.

But a loan in a key area of the park where weve been missing quality for 8 months would be unaccaptable. For me. Particularly when theres a 10 cap croatia international who we could sign up for 4 years available for £3m.

For it to take 8 months, and 2.5 months of a transfer window to sign a 19 year old on loan from City would be annoying as *.

Negativity from me is because its taken 8 months to get a right back and it could be a loan player who will be gone again in 12 months.

Nae chance of an option to buy on this one, I dont think. He looks quality but it would be frustrating, as above.

Any player coming into this rebuild as a 1st XI pick should ideally be a permanent signing so we arent at square 1 in 12 months time again. If this guy is a challenger to Juranovic and in general a good squad option, loan is fine with me.

Hate loans coming from the super elite clubs, they horde players like mofos, then expect other clubs to develop them, most of them fail to make the grade so they get punted. Meanwhile the ludicrous fees they take for loans means they’re always in profit as they have so many out at one time. It’s everything that’s wrong with football today.

If that's the case, brilliant. Get the Croat RB, Itakura or Davies on loan to buy and that's the defence shored up this season. Sell Eddy get, Henry, Lovric and we're * rocking. Would have included Nesbit but can't be too greedy. :Kyogo:

    Was this video.

TBH with how often the full backs will be in the pitch, the fact he isnt a natural left footer might not impact as much. As long as he can play the system and as someone mentioned, I assume Pep has the city youths playing the inverted role.

Just watched this again and realised he pings a left footed shot in within 15 seconds.

    Seems really two footed.

Could he be a loan option for LB till we get Bolingoli sold? Juranovic RB? I seen a point made elsewhere on twitter that in 2019 we signed Frimpong, O'Connor, Elhamed and Bauer (x4 RBs) in the one window. OK so 2 were brought in as project types but still.

Wouldn't be out the ordinary if we did sign 2, who knows. I cant wait till this position is seen to :giggle1:
