    Would have absolutely loved to have got him here, even for a few months :35: However between the weather and the money on offer, I couldn't blame him for going to Qatar.

    It won't be quite right watching Barcelona next year without him around. An absolute genius, one of the best midfielders I've ever seen and the focal point of a whole footballing philosophy in tiki-taka that brought such immense success to both Barcelona and Spain. He's the type of player you feel lucky to have got to watch in his prime.

    Sad to see him leave but he has more then earned the right for a final big payday in a more relaxed atmosphere. A true legend of the game without a doubt and a class act.

    Agreed. Weird one from Xavi, never pegged him for the sort of guy to go chase a buck or two. Not like he needs it, nor needs the fame and attention.
    Retiring at Barcelona would have been fitting and perfect. Would go down well.

    £7.2m tax free though - that is about £13m equivalent in Spain.

    And Qatar is pretty * hot if you are rich. Dunno if he'l enjoy the playing though, does seem bizarre.
