Can't help but think these kind of threads are a bit conceited... Winning ANY trophy is an achievement.
I think that a run of winning trebles at home made it so people only think a European trophy is important now. Something that Scottish teams have only done like 3 or 4 times in all history. And those were before the financially handicapped times we live in now

No, unfortunately not. Should be Europa vs Conference winners first, for the right to face the CL winners in the Super Cup. And the Conference winners should be straight into the CL group stages.

But regardless, winning the Conference League would be a massive achievement. As Saltire78 says, European silverware has only been won four times by Scottish clubs (and that's including Aberdeen's Super Cup). So yeah, would be a huge deal for me.

If you’re left holding a trophy at the end of it? Quite obviously not. Away you for a lie doon.

Here we go, beat a poor Ferencvaros and now this thread appears...

I said before a quarter final place is more than realistic in the ECL but let's be honest you have other Europa drop outs parachuting in as well, so there are some very challenging opponents to face. We also have a young and inexperienced side who after last night are showing they don't always have the capability of making the right decisions. A quick round of European football in Conference past Christmas is probably about our level right now.

We are a club that topped a Europa League group a couple of seasons ago. We are more than capable of beating third placed EL teams, and we are more than capable of going on a run in the Conference League. Granted, we're three or four signings away from the squad depth we need, but we shouldn't sell ourselves short either.

Winning it would be an achievement

Playing in it is an underachievment for a Club of Celtics stature.

Our board need to spend in line with realistic expectations of the fans.

Running at a profit while failing to play at the highest level ie the CL is not vision by our board, it's pandering to investors looking for high returns.

We have a global brand that is vastly under utilized and our board have a mindset that europe is a bonus instead of making it a central part of our season.

If we are in it then we are in it to win it. But let's set our aspirations at CL football and probably dropping down to EL.

If we end up at the lowest tier of European football then it should be down to playing superior opposition and not because our board sit with their thumbs up their erses every qualifying round pre season.

I don't know if you can count getting beat in a final to being knocked out of a tournament!

An achievement yes, not quite as impressive as winning 55 titles in one season but it's up there...

Massive achievement. Have you seen many of the teams in it? They have recent champion league finalists in it.
