Can't wait for this to start, hopefully finish with some profits but the whole experience of my first world cup as a gambler should be good either way.

Like that very much.. Is that a special bet only? If not I'll be looking to double that up with something else.

Can't see them picking up a point at all.

I thought you could do an acca with it mate, but I've just realised it has to be single bets. Bit of a *, as I can't see Costa Rica or Australia picking up anything if I'm honest. More so Costa Rica. I might just do a single bet on that. 6/4 is still a good price though I think.

Costa Rica goalkeeper is doing well now, iirc he won his team a point against Barca, could do it again against any 3 of those teams all he needs is a goal from his forwards.

Anyone know if Ecuador are up to much? France don't convince me and the conditions won't suit the Swiss. If Ecuador are half decent then they look like a decent bet to qualify.

Ecuador and Nigeria were the two teams being offered at odds against that jumped out at me.

The only player of note they have is Valencia and based on what I've seen of him this season he's been poor, their main striker is currently playing in the middle east after a poor season in Russia so not exactly in his best form( did outscore Aguero, Cavani and alexis Sanchez in qualifiers though) and the loss of Christian Benitez will be devastating as he got a good few goals for them.

All of this on top of the fact they didn't win a single qualifier outside of Ecuador doesn't fill me with confidence.

Switzerland on the other hand, an amazing young striker in Drmic who scored 17 goals in the bundesliga for a team that were relegated, a decent bundesliga keeper in Benaglio and a very experienced midfield with champions league players some of which have gone to past world cups, finally they have an amazing left back in Ricardo Rodriguez and a * for a right back....but as you say the conditions don't favour them.

I'd stay away to be honest. Two things puts me off instantly.

    1) They play Frickson Erazo at the back. This is a guy who can't get a game in one of the worst Flamengo sides ever.

    2) Their away form is terrible. I don't think they won a single game on the road in their qualification. They got through based on their home form along, the Olímpico Atahualpa in Quito is a fortress for them, high in the Andes.

They have never beaten Brazil in Brazil and have only ever won two games on Brazilian soil. A 1 x 0 win against Uruguay in the 1989 Copa América (a goal from Ermen Benítez, Christian's dad) and a 4 x 1 win against Colombia at the 1949 Copa América.

One last thing which could either work for or against them is the death of Christian Benítez. He was their second highest scorer in qualification even though he died a couple of months before it finished. He was their talisman, so they could either play out of their skin for him or struggle up front because they can't replace him.

They'd need another Alberto Spencer to win their group I think.

I've gone for Brazil, Portugal, Chile and Italy to win their groups. £5 returns £300.

I don't think Holland will make it out their group to be honest.
