The options in the poll are very broad. It'd be impossible to list every variant in the poll but you can be more specific in the thread. :50:

Right now, I'd say anarchism (anarcho-communism/green anarchism).

Poll should be public. Was torn between Socialism and Anarchism and in the end went for the latter.

I don't think there's any way to make it public now.

Got to say that from that list, Nationalism is the one I feel the least affinity with. I actually see more value in Conservatism.

Is it OK to put them in order according to how much you identify with them?

    For me:

    Anarchism/Socialism>Environmentalism>Communism>Liberalism>Conservatism>>>>>>>Nationalism

    * knows to be honest. I'm certainly not enamoured with any of the political parties available at the moment, so maybe I'm not any of them.

I'd describe myself as perhaps a modernist or something.

Used other as I believe in "common sense'ISM" how did people manage 20/30 years ago to describe their political beliefs without the "ism" add on. I suppose it wasn't as cool back then. :86:

Parties are the problem, mate. Look at "Podemos" in Spain. The utterly fascinating and inspiring 15-M movement has been successfully (from an elite point of view) channeled into the political party "Podemos", complete with narcissistic leaders (mostly academics rather than ordinary people), funding scandals and populist manifesto. :54:

You mean no one has yet found a way to make it work with groups of people larger than a small village. It emphatically does work in smaller groups. Many families are essentially organised that way, for instance.

Very good point that I've never thought about before. I'm thinking more on a country wide scale or global scale.

Greed is just too big a part of human nature.

Would I be a Nationalist for wanting the will of any given Nation to be reflected in the Government they elect to be the Government they actually get?

    That's my overriding 'ideology'.

I identify most with social liberalism: [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_liberalism"]Social liberalism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

Upwards social mobility is key in my opinion: everyone should have the same opportunities in life regardless of the social background of your parents. What you do with these opportunities is your own choice.

Aye. I'd say the most common form the of nationalism in Scotland is civic nationalism (non-xenophobic, membership of the nation is voluntary, not based on ethnicity; values like freedom, tolerance, equality and individual rights are upheld).

I've got varying views on varying subjects so I wouldn't put a label on my political views.

Economically I'm probably more left-wing but socially I'm more conservative..
