Who would be your top five targets from the players we've been linked with in the transfer rumours section?

    1. Jason Denayer (on loan from Manchester City)

Champions League football could lure him back.

    2. Erick Gutiérrez (Pachuca)

    Mexico U20 captain.

    3. Anthony Mounier (Montpellier)

    At £700,000, it's a no-brainer.

    4. Jonathas de Jesus (Elche)

Good goal-scoring record for a poor side. Linked with Atlético Madrid.

    5. Papy Djilobodji (Nantes)

If van Dijk goes, I'd like to see us go after a top centre-half.

I'm assuming the Boyata deal is done and dusted.

No fancy names. Just players that are better than our current players.

    2. Aiden McGeady

    3. Jason Denayer

    4. Bakkali

    5. Jahanbaksh

Just off the top of my head. Haven't seen the bottom 2 play but they sound good :icon_mrgreen:

    1. Jason Denayer - We know what we're getting.

    2. Anthony Mounier - By all accounts, he'd be a coup for Celtic. And we could be doing with another proper winger.

    3. Brandon Mechele - Again, seems highly rated and provided Virgil leaves, we need another centre half.

    4. Jonathas - Looks like the sort of striker we need

    5. Mitchell Dijks - We need another left back and he looks the part.

Agree with everything you've said there. I'd love Bakkali here as well but I think that chance might have slipped away.

So aye, I'd go with those 5.

I would swap Guiterrez with Jonathas and the rest are the same for me.

On Erick Guiterrez, I think there game with China is on BT sport tonight for anybody who is interested in giving him a watch.

Bakkali told vi.nl today that he has received 13 offers and he is 95% sure where he will go. Also said he would be going to one of the biggest leagues in Europe.

That would be us then. :smiley-laughing002:

    1. Denayer - would be great as he was excellent for us.

    2. Michiel Kramer - one of Eredivisie top scorers , big target man.

    3. Amavi - great prospect , young tough left back from OGC Nice.

    4. Mounier - we need a winger with experience , fits the bill perfectly.

    5. Ciftci - I think Ronny could make him into a real good player for us.

One who we would probably have no chance with but Berardi on loan from Juve.

Falque who plays for Genoa would be a superb signing as well, 13 goals in 31 league games for Genoa. Been on the books of Real, Barca and Juve, career not went as well as he'd have thought so bit if pedigree their that we might have a chance siging. * knows the price though.

Folk we've been linked to or folk we have a realistic chance of signing.

Edit: It'd be better if it were players we were linked to so this doesn't just become a player suggestion thread.

I suggested Falque a wee while ago. I didn't know he'd been at those clubs but you can tell he has a touch of class.

Was at Spurs as well, only 25 so could yet kick on and fulfill the potential those teams saw in him when he was younger

As long as we get Kenny Miller I'm happy. Time to bring him home.

Why do people want wide men and midfielders? We've got enough quality in these positions.

Wide men we have; GMS, Armstrong, Commons & Forrest. All good players. The no.10 role will be filled by Johansen all season, but incase of injury we have Commons and Armstrong who are more than capable of playing there. Holding midfielders we have Brown & Biton - the best part of our team now that Jason & Virgil will probably be leaving us. We also have Charlie that can play there.

Tbh, Im not sure we need another striker. If we play with 1 up top, we have the thumb (who is going to be our main striker next season) and the Scep who can challenge him for a place. All you need after that is someone who is willing to sit on the sidelines incase of injuries - Pukki & Balde (yes I know they are * but I'm not saying they should be playing. Last resort if one of them picks up an injury).

We need another centre half on top of Boyata seeing as our two starting cb's are leaving, and a left back in his mid to young 20s that will challenge, or is even better, than Izzy.

Part of me is fairly content about the centre half situation though. It could be Charlie & Boyata in there next season with Ambrose as backup, although I'd love to get Jason back in on loan and for him and Boyata to play with each other. Both Belgian, same language, Boyata seems to be in a similar mould to Virgil but maybe more limited in terms of technical ability, and both will no doubt know each other incredibly well from being at City with one another.

Couldn't really tell you about potential left backs but we could have had Graeme Shinnie on a pre contract. Is that a ridiculous suggestion?
