Rodgers is easily the best possible appointment we could make from the names listed, and that includes Moyes.

His stock has dropped due to his spells at United and in Spain.

Moyes is the best candidate for me...

He would make us hard to beat in Europe and domestically and I'm sure attractive enough for the purists.

He's is very thorough and committed, he would be a success, I'm sure of it..

We need stability and five years of Moyes would bring that..

Aye I'd love him here don't get me wrong, would be a serious coup though and I can't see it.

Regardless of whether he had Suarez or not he got closer to a title than any Liverpool manager for a good couple decades.

Like JC says above though I'm still all for Moyes. My gut feeling tells me he's the better option for what we are wanting right now.

I'd be happy with either.. Tbh...

    Moyes
    Rogers
    Clarke
    Pearson

    In that order for me..

If we get 1 of either Rodgers or Moyes, we'll all be ecstatic to be honest..

I'm like you and JC here....it'd take a bigger transform to a Rodgers team than a Moyes team. We need tightening up, and that isn't what you'd necessarily say is Rodgers forte..

We don't have anything like a good enough side for quick, comfortable passing in tight area's. Would take a fair wad of cash to assemble..

Basically anyone being linked with Villa or swansea or out of work is being touted as our next manager.

Bottom line is it doesnt look like we've even approached anyone yet.

The board need to get their thumb out. The day after the league is over we should be seeing an appointment.

    Agreed either would be fantastic.

Trying not to get my hopes up, however. For obvious reasons. :smiley-laughing002:

We're hardly a big draw anymore, but collecting a wage here is better than being unemployed. Even if it's only for a season or two till a higher paying vacancy comes along.

We can pay a manager the 25 grand a week when we get shot of Brown :icon_mrgreen:

    Rodgers 1st choice
    Moyes 2nd

Not fussed after that tbh. As long as it's not some diddy like Steve Clarke.

    Agreed mate...

Maybe we're being optimistic with the Moyes and Rogers... That's what we should be aiming for tho, time we showed some ambition..

I just think Moyes would be more pragmatic in getting the best out of our squad ar the moment a rebuild more thoughtfully..

Where as Rogers believes in a certain way of playing and would take more risks to achieve his footballing vision. Think he is probably capable of taking us to higher heights but there would be inevitable lows too.

Probably end up with neither tho as both would demand too much from the PLC..

I'm hopeful due to the fact the board are under increasingly open pressure and they know it. They've * up previously and everyone knows it has to be right this time, surely to * we'll push it this time

For the first time in a while we're being linked with quite a few good candidates at slim odds, which is also giving me some optimism..

Totally agree. Our lack of ambition is why we are where we are right now as a club..

He ticks the boxes if we're not gonna punt 12/13 or whatever out the door, and has the cv of what we're looking for tactically, as it's all wrong just now. Very good pedigree in setting team's up to defend first and foremost but also not necessarily a defensive minded manager. Takes zero * and that's also swinging me in his favour, with all the rumours of rifts and attitude problem's. Not so sure Rodgers has that fear factor that we require for the half arsed, lacklustre performances we've seen all year..

Trust in the board. They'll no dissapoint :fear:

He has earned the right to be considered as a number 1...

Don't want Lenny back but to put him forward as a number 2 is a tad disrespectful at this stage of his career.

Although TB proved its not a non starter.. He had a special love for the club though..

How about Moyes, Ronny and Lenny as a management team...:smiley-laughing002:

He was a successful manager here in his own right, winning trophies and masterminding possibly our most unlikely victory of decades. So I doubt he'd be interested in being an assistant, after declaring his interest in the top job and being overlooked.

Moyes or Rodgers, the rest being quoted are a massive gamble just like Ronny.

    Brendan Rodgers
    Davie Moyes
    Nigel Pearson

Think the board know that they cannot * about this time, a lot of people don't want Pearson but I think he would be a solid appointment. Experienced and highly regarded as a English championship manager, not the highest level but a tough league for a manager to survive in

Does anyone seriously think we are going to get Moyes or Rodgers ? They are going to want a transfer fund that we just won`t be able to afford. To say nothing of their salary expectations.
