At the moment we are supposed to be looking at players for nearly every position, i am thinking we are almost certain to sign a defensive midfielder, and a striker. I am not sure he will be break up the mcmanus and caldwell partnership just yet unless the right player becomes available, and there has not been much said lately about the left back position. I do not think we desperately need a striker or a defensive mid but that seems to be the 2 positions that WGS thinks need strengthened first. Thoughts :43:

He seems to be goin for a striker but i think we need a new left-back as a priority. Naylor looks poor lately, like his heart isnt in it anymore.

Think ur right about the centre-back partnership, and i think we'll only get a midfielder if one of the current players (Donati, Robson, Hartley, Brown, Sno) leaves. Realistically, it would only be Sno or Donati.

The fact he's goin for strikers means he feels we need more quality up there (i agree). Riordan has to leave for his own good really, he wont get a game under WGS. Samaras prob wont stay and Killen might go. We need more competition, quality and variety up front.

There has seemed to be real interest in the croatian gattuso and now this polish boy, thats the reason i started this thread i would rather see that kind of money spent elsewhere on the team. I hope im wrong and strachan has a fortune and can afford it.

I think he knows that we gave away too many cheap goals last season, we need a no nonesense CB like Mjallby or Rieper.
I think again he'll be looking for a DM and a striker as well.

    in order...
a left back (two if Naylor goes), a striker (only have JVoH and Skip), centre back (looking for that experienced defender for a while) and a defensive mid (to provide compeition and back up for Hartley).

oh, and obviously a Goalie if the holly one leaves.

i think we need to strengthen the left back and left mid position aswell as gettin a new striker to play alongside skippy however a dont think theres much wrong with ben hutchinson who looks like a good striker maybe a better version of john hartson haha thought we shouldve took a gamble and tried to get risse from liverpool but hes off now

I think you have it spot on there. Even though we do need a player in DM, winger and forward, for me a new left back must be top priority.

LB is big for me. CB, DM, and Striker would all be massive for Champions League, but at least there are youngsters who I think could do well in those positions for us.
I'm not sold on needing a winger... that's a gut-call on whether the management rates Mizuno and McCourt... and I'm not opposed to putting Brown on the right if needed either.

Backbone of the team needs to be strengthened if we're serious about Europe.

Caldwell, Naylor and Hartley need to be replaced as a priority for me, and Id also like to see a pacy striker brought in.

We need someone who can take the pressure off and play the lone strker role at tough away european grounds.

I think we need a left back and I'm not really happy with our central defense neither Caldwell or Mick are really top Euro class. We need a striker but I suppose that could be Hutch though thats yet to be proven. Can anyone put forward a reason why Deek was bought and then ignored. And if other teams don't want Gravesen how are we gonna get any use out of him - it seems that he and Strachan just don't click.

i think we just to shore up the defence to get rid of the silly mistakes priority being the champions league as we do have a good defensive record in the spl. u can see the talent that will develop in other areas with the likes of the youngsters in mizuno and huthison etc. Good times ahead me thinks. :)

think we need a decent goalie as cover for artur as brown just doesn't cut the mustard for me.
new lb, naylor was great his 1st season but he's in the comfort zone now, no competition out there.
new cb, i wouldn't play caldwell in my 5 a side team.
