Sounds like epilepsy mate, which isn't life threatening. The vet should hook you up with medication.

Thats the problem with seizures, they really could be anything, but it is far too costly to have multiple tests and scans as they still wont guarantee finding the cause, or worse, they will find the cause and not a solution.

You never know mate, it may pass in the same way it came on.

Her energy level is severely reduced though,i hope you are right Daibhi, and good advice mygirlmaria.I am fearing the worst, but she is still eating well, tail up,happy but confused and tired at the same time.
She is fast asleep next to me as i speak,we both know we are loved, that is a huge thing.

Yes that is a good sign mygirlmaria,a very good sign, she has just had a big drink of water, done a wee in the garden and gone to rest on my bed.
Your concerns and kind words are more than appreciated mygirlmaria,i have told Jasmine that a cool fellow Celtic fan is asking after her.

Could be any numbers of things tbh, Cidermaster. I know a woman who's akita has had them since she got him. He was a rescue though, who was badly treated before she took him. Don't know if it could be trauma from an injury causing his. Probably just need to go through different medications to see what works for your dog. Might not have any more though, fingers crossed it was a one off.

All you can do is spoil them rotten when they get a bit older. My boy is 9 at the end of November, cherish every moment, plenty of cuddles and treats etc. Give them a streak now and again.... while you sit eating your pizza or that :smiley-laughing002:

My mates dog was like that, constantly tired and not really up to much. Turned out to be epilepsy. Vet issued some medication and he's been right as rain for four years now.

My young lass has a 1 year old Alaskan Malamute, just got her boosters 3 weeks ago, since then has had 3 seizures, she'd never had anything like this before, vets are saying its nothing to do with the boosters but got a feeling they might be telling a few white lies, been reading a few articles on the net and seemingly this is quite common for certain breeds of dogs to have a reaction to their injections but the vets wont admit to it.

My boxer dog daughter Jasmine went to the Vet for another big check up today, looks like(touch wood) unlikely that it is a brain tumor. They still do not know the cause of the small seziures, indeed they may not be even that, could be a heart problem, the jury is wide open.
More bit of good news, when she does not have these episodes in the house,on lead walks,or when relaxed or just going from a to b.She has them playing, running and getting over excited.
Loved her fish with her meal for tea tonight, bless her!

Jasmine my Boxer is a lot better now,she has got a large slice of her energy back, still not taking this for granted, she is back at the Vets next week for final test and X Ray on her heart.
I was at point very very upset and worried but she really is getting back to her great self!
One good thing it may well end up costing me the best part of £600,but she is getting a complete medical all over, bless her!

More the slabbering I was talking about. :icon_mrgreen:

Nah mate, my wife has an irrational fear of dogs so it's a cat for us. Had a boxer when I was younger though. Cracking dog apart from the salivating. :smiley-laughing002:
