Cheers pal, he’s a pointer spaniel cross. We rescued him and we know he’s a pointer but not sure exactly what type of spaniel he is crossed with.

Ruby Roo got sore hips:55:Bless her.She is on medication. Her overall health is good and with smaller walks and heavy playing for a couple of weeks she should improve.
She cannot jump on to my bed or the seats downstairs the wee soul. She is eating as good as always, can still run okay(even though none of that for 2 weeks, certainly no beach visits. And she can get up and down steps and stairs okay.
Vet was pleased with as such, but it is always a worry and i worried before,on the way there, there,on the way back and now.But Ruby Roo is clever and knows to rest more.:49:

Lost my wee Sam 5 years ago. Broke my heart and been pining for him ever since. Mrs called my bluff and told me last night to get another dog....... I'm now arguing with myself that I don't need another dog.... nightmare

Was really hoping to get a golden show type cocker spaniel this year but lockdowns ramped the waiting lists right up and the average price for a pup has risen from 1100 to 2500.

    Getting out of hand.

Seen folk asking for £3k+ for puppies. An absolute * * take.

That's horrendous taking advantage of people like that.

I follow some cocker spaniel groups and some member who work in shelters are already starting to get dogs in "as the cute factor is starting to wear off". Horrible stuff.

We were original wanting a dog last year (even before lockdown) but deliberately held off as the house wasn't ready for a dog yet. Looks like we've had it for now.

Aye it's a joke. I hope as many as possible boycott these chancers. It might be worth getting in touch with some nearby shelters, see if they have a dog suitable for you.

We were wanting to get a pup and then rescue using our dog as the "established dog" to help with training.

Definitely going to rescue down the road.

@cidermaster Obviously not quite sure what Ruby's issues are with her hips but just thought i'd mention this anyway.
When you consider the price for the vet consultation plus the prescription cost it mounts up really fast I know how expensive it can get. Another way is to get the prescription from the vet and buy it online (online suppliers are cheaper)
However I was told years ago by a vet that what they issue for joint pain is actually Glucosamine, and to go get some for a human apparently it's the exact same stuff.

You can get a bottle of 45 Glucosamine pills in Aldi's for less than £2.00 I also give cod liver oil tablets too which are a similar price.
Just thought it might be something you might want to look into. I've been giving them to my dogs for years

Can’t find a thread for what’s your pet? I’m gonna share my new best friend Iggy the Maine *
He’s 14 weeks old and already the size of a standard cat. From head to tail he will get to 1.5m

only had him a week and he’s gained half a kilo.
