I'd love a real quality left centre half and a real quality left back. If we get those 2 positions filled properly we could have a pretty decent team

I have never bought in we would win the ECL but I did expect us to be competitive and get through this tie. That seems unlikely now.

If we win the league and nothing else that is success enough for me in a transitional season. We already have the league cup so a cup and league double in a season we have changed 15+ players would be a very good season. Especially when it comes with guaranteed CL football.

We do need to improve for next term though. A more mobile comfortable on the ball CB, possibly 2, an athletic and better all round left back, another creative winger, even if Jota is signed, two if he isn’t. A powerful CM who can go box to box wouldn’t go a miss either or play deep and push McGregor one forward. Physicality is an issue for our team.

We need Ryan Jack as he's apparently world class.

LB another RW to replace forrest. CCV and jota if not then a LW and CB aswel.

And another wanyama to make us solid in the CL. Thats 5 signings. Seems alot, but if CL is sorted then we can easily go for it.

Possibly a backup RB and a young, high potential 3rd choice CF too.

The recruitment emphasis being on fitting the system Ange is wanting to play and not players being signed at the board level.
Bode should be an example of recruitment planning and what replacing players with players suited to the system can achieve when you back a manager's vision.
Moving on guys that aren't suited to the system too and not being too sentimental about selling players if the money is right.

IF we dont sign Jota and we are given the opportunity to sign him, then the board should be put in the stocks at "PARKHEED" car park and battered with rotten veg and fruit.

Anyone read this interesting article on Celtic youth development in the Athletic:

    https://theathletic.com/3090370/202...-of-celtic-rethinking-approach-to-youngsters/

Signals a significant shift in attitude towards youth player progression at the club. In theory it sounds great, but we'll get to see how it works in reality.

It's certainly better than losing so many players to top clubs at such a young age. Less of a need also to panic buy squad players every year when you've a long term development plan in place.

A proper no-nonsense defensive midfielder. Calmac is class in the 6 role domestically but we really need a Wanyama-type DM for big fixtures / European games.

Someone with a real physical presence who keeps it simple - win the ball & start attacks quickly.

    AND obviously a LB.

    Agree.

Yes, a center half that can play out from the back, like Ajer did, even if it means punting big CJ or Starfelt. Quality LB a priority. Back up keeper, that boy from DU, low dollar.

    Good call.

Dont really get that. If we are sending someone out on loan, its because they are not contributing at that moment, they may develop out on loan and come back in as a better player, ready to contribute. So they dont need replacing, our squad is well bloated with non contributors at the moment.

In the summer if we get cl theirs so much money their now we should be buying jota and Ccv but I f we can go out and get two blu chip signings don’t even need to buy them way contracts are now should be one or two on a Bosman offer between 50 grand to 79 grand a week we need that experience and quality to cope in the group stage
I look at that Galeno who was at braga everyone knew he was gonna be a player and went to Porto for only 9 million euro

I would also get shot of 2 strikers, Ajeti and GG, and upgrade with new striker, with physicality.
