So far, I'd say we've had two cracking windows, 17 players over two windows is mad, even if 3 were for the youth team.

What's mental is it isn't enough, and come Summer I think we'll be busy again. Thought I'd see what the general consensus is on In's and out's

    Outs
    Bolingoli
    Ajeti
    Soro
    Barkas
    McCarthy
    Afolabi
    Connell
    Doohan
    Robertson (Loan)
    Montgomery (Loan)
    Shaw (Loan)
    Moffat (Loan)
    Johnstone (Loan)

Ideally some of these happen over the next month or so, with some transfer windows still to close, but even more ideal would be to have them all out before the end of the Summer window.

    In
    Jota
    CCV
    LB (First choice)
CB (Either first choice or Back-up, maybe even both, depends on Julliens recovery and whether Starfelt can continue to improve)
    RW
GK (Proper back-up to Hart, not a fan of Bain tbh)
    ST

    Totally agree with CB.

Was actually very very surprised and a little disappointed weve punted out Urgo with an option to buy.

And Julens recovery is a bit of a mystery box right now.

For me, a CB, a LB and a striker are a must

Obviously, a lot will depend on how the rest of this season pans out, but we shold hopefully have the benefit of a fairly settled squad come summer, and that theoretically puts us in a much better starting position for Euro qualifiers and the beginning of next season's domestic campaign.

I think Karamoko Dembele will be looking for a move, and we might look to bring in another right winger. Also think with Ajeti and Bolingoli likely to be leaving, we should be looking for improvements in their positions.

If we don't sign Jota then a left winger will be essential as Johnston still hasn't proven himself as a first team regular for us and there are doubts he'll be able to do that.

    • Sign a high quality LB.
    • Sign CCV or we riot.
    • Sign Jota or we riot.
    • Sign winger to replace Forrest/Johnston if they don’t up their game.
    • If Giakoumakis turns out to be a dud then ship him out with Ajeti and bring another striker in.

Whatever happens, our squad will be looking a lot healthier to start next season, even if we can’t complete the signings of CCV and Jota.

    Hart
    Juranovic
    Starfelt
    Jullien
    Taylor
    McGregor
    Hatate
    O’Riley
    Abada
    Maeda
    Kyogo

    Oluwayemi
    Ralston
    Welsh
    Murray
    Scales
    Guchi/Bitton
    Turnbull
    Rogic
    Forrest/Doak

Need to see how a few players get ton, Forrest finding his form again or Demebele stepping up (even Doak).
Need to see if Scales can stake a claim at left back as well.

Also see what happens with CCV and Jota.

If we get all those signed/performing then the next part of the rebuild is very small.

But on paper, just now(assuming everyone performs and stays).

    Need another keeper
    Need a left back
    Need a striker.

If Doak steps up, that'll be Abada, Forrest and Doak. Investing on the right flank is way down on the priorities.

I think if we get into the champions league I’d like to see the budget spent on a LB and RW and securing CCV and Jota.

Aside from that just continue to offload the deadwood.

With Maeda, Jota and CCV taking up a huge slice of our budget, we should be looking at pre-contracts - Siegrist would be a great back up to Hart. If we don't sign CCV and Jota, we'll need two center backs and two left wingers imo. It's really important we sign those two.

We need a left back to walk into the team. It's our weakest area.

We have no idea how Juillien will be when he comes back and I want someone as rock solid as CCV in there.

Back up keeper as relying on Bain if Hart is injured makes me ill.

Left winger to cover Jota as Mikey isn't good enough. I'd probably keep MJ to play against low league/poor cup opposition as he's on a low wage but he isn't good enough to cover Jota when we're up against it.

At this point it is very difficult to tell given how many variables we have to try and balance.

    1. There is if we win the league or we don’t win the league, which will have a huge impact on finances and also attractiveness of the club to players.

    2. Sign Jota and/or CCV, again like point , this has a huge financial impact given the prices of the players and therefore likelihood of much further business all be it both are well worth the money being quoted. If we don’t sign them then a CB and LW jump to close to the top of the queue.

    3. On the right wing position we have taken a huge gamble that Abada can maintain his form for the full season, and Forrest or Dembele or one of the other youngsters can provide a telling contribution between now and the end of the season. Dembele and/or Doak may grab their chance if they are given minutes and that suddenly turns to a strong position if they sign a new deal.

    4. It depends how the likes of Maeda, Hatate, O’Riley, Ideguchi, Giakoumakis and Starfelt perform between now and the end of the season. If the majority are good then we are set for just small tweaks if not we have a big job on our hands still.

5.What will the position of Ajeti, Barkas and Boli be by the time other winter windows shut? If they are all still here then I have to say I am not sure on the whole we can say this has been a good window. We will be at the stage with Boli like Ntcham, where we just want someone to take him off our hands and more than likely need to consider paying him something just to go rather than getting a fee. Ajeti hopefully something can be worked out with Basel as if not I am not sure where he goes. Barkas is just a disaster that we need to get out on loan and hope he does ok or we are stuck with him. The reality is the three of them are blocking the squad overhaul being completed. For example getting a proper first choice left back in would be seen as more a priority if someone took Boli and his wage off us.

Given all the above and if this works out favourably then a LB, LCB and versatile forward. If it doesn’t we could be looking at CBx2, LB, LW, RW and versatile forward.

having a settled squad is gonna be massive for us next season .lb and a lw then anything further should be about adding quality (better than what we have got).cant see there being too many signings next season.thats assuming jota ,ccv and maeda are signed

Nice thing is, even If we miss out on CCV and Jota I fully trust Ange to properly replace them.

Doak being so young may limit first team opportunities, unless he proves to be outstanding.

Thrown on against Utd when we needed to win suggests he's gonna play a part this season. I'm hoping to see more of him.

I'd get rid of Ajeti, Boli, Barkas, and probably Connell as well looking at folk others have mentioned. I don't mind Soro but I'm not sure where he fits in at the moment, even with some people missing.

CCV and Jota. If we keep them, a LB and CB would be all we really need.

Maybe another right winger if Forrest keeps playing like this.
