    Wenger sizes up Boruc ?

Reports emerged today that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is considering a move for Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc. Poland's first choice keeper represented his country in yesterday's 2-0 defeat to tournament favourites Germany but acquitted himself well as the defence in front of him was, at times, cut open with ease. He has previously been linked with possible moves to AC Milan, Internazionale and Barcelona. Ironically Boruc's opposite number in the Euro 2008 match was Jens Lehemann - the man he could replace at Arsenal.

Boruc has recently signed a new contract at Celtic but there are rumours of an 'understanding' between Boruc and the Glasgow giants that if a huge offer comes in Celtic will not stand in his way. It remains to be seen whether Boruc would be tempted by a move to Arsenal or may indeed be holding out for a club which would improve his chances of winning the Champions League. Barcelona would seem to be a favoured option, as would Milan and possibly Manchester United who may look to replace the aging Edwin van der Saar. A good tournament for Boruc may leave him with several offers to ponder.
