There is no point in denying it at this stage.

I'd like to point out couple of things that are clearly visible for me:

    1. Our pressing - Where is it? Where is the pressing I've seen last season where teams like M.City, Aberdeen, Borussia M. couldn't find an inch of space? It's gone. We start pressing in our half with no commitment and too late. Last season it was like this: A opposite player receives a ball in his own half and immediately loses it due to pressure that was already applied as the pass was made. Now we are two steps behind the tempo and a simple dummy or shift of pace and Brown, Armstrong, McGregor are left in no man's land.

    2. Our defending - Berra looks top 4 EPL quality in comparison to our defence. No organisation, no commitment, no communication.

    3. Our tempo - We look like Ronny Deila side once more with slow passing and very little penetration and creativity.

    4. Gordon's kicking - Don't get me started on this.

    5. Our passing - Where is the sharp, one touch passing we've seen last season. Now our players have to control the ball (without controlling it in a way to set up a run with the ball or immediate pass, we just focus on controlling - a bit like amateurs) and then look around, stop and even after that, players still don't know where anyone is. Compare successful pass percentage from last season and this one.

Actually, this games result is irrelevant to this topic.

Completely agree. Gordon, occasional flashy save aside, is not nearly at the level we need. Our centre backs so average it’s frightening, none of them should stay as far as I’m concerned - Boyata was looking the part for a bit but has completely reverted to type this season. Jozo flatters to deceive.

Our summer window was a shambles, not signing a defender was criminal and is now showing badly, the first team needs rotating, we are so reliant on a couple of players that when they aren’t at the races we are *. Ntcham looks decent - no more than that just yet but giving Armstrong his new deal is looking like a mistake.

Sinclair has gone from the Swansea Sinclair to the City Sinclair seemingly overnight, constantly too far inside the field and pulling defenders in, giving no space for midfield runners to come in and making Tierney’s job 10x harder as he is doing it all himself on the wing.

We’ve had an amazing run, and nothing can take away from that win lose or draw today but as far as I’m concerned we’ve started to believe our own hype and lost our edge. I wouldn’t have wanted it to be against Hearts but maybe losing will give us a bit of a reality check as to the level we are actually performing at.

I actually agree slightly, wouldn't say we have regressed but..I don't think the football this season has been great at all and its been hidden behind the unbeaten run.

Today has been threatening itself for too long.

Our play all season has been slow, pedantic and lazy far too often.

I'm actually talking about this season, not today. The Berra reference is just an example of how solid our defense should look, sharp, strong.

Teams know how to play against us, we have a manager earning about 40k a week supposedly. Time he got his finger out his * because we've been rank just about all season.

Aye it's fairly obvious now losings one thing but letting 3 in against a weakened Levein hearts team is a joke players can't handle it when the pressures on.

It's undeniable. How many players have actually performed at a good level consistently this season?

    Forrest. Think that's about it.

    Even Tierney hasn't been great.

As I say, the unbeaten run has been masking these poor performances. Some of these players are taking Rodgers for a ride.

    He's right.

Its not about the run, its about this season. The performances have been nowhere near good enough or consistent, and its been masked by last season's heroics.

It's not about the run. Getting results is one thing but you can't deny that our performance level has dropped.

We should have lost last week, Lustig saved it from ending there, today is no surprise it's been due for a while

2 new centre backs and a goalkeeper needed asap, Rodgers still has a lot to do with this squad. There's also a sense of 2nd season syndrome since we played so well last season, a skelping might just be what the team and management need to get them motivated again.

This is still largely Ronny's squad as well, there isn't a real mental toughness around a lot of the players and if the key players do show the fight and passion need then the rest follow suit and * the bed. Happened in Champions league against quality sides but now the team has shown it can happen against absolute pish managed by a * that set up a team as 4-6-0.
