He should be released on the 31st of January if no one buys him.

Keeping him at Celtic is not an option. I feel the same way about Baller Bolongoli.

He cost us the league, with many others. Reminds me of the lockdown Celtic and that dark time in our lives.

    Laxalt etc. Dubai.

Ffs. Is there any company in the world who would let a 5 million quid asset go for nothing

he may be *. He may not play. We are still invested for millions in him though and would be folly to say bye bye for nothing

Microsoft paid £100m for ninja the streamer to leave twitch to go and shut down the service 6 months later and rejoin twith... :56:

Nothing to do with football but an example of another company letting assets go. Sometimes companies * up and celtic are included. Sometimes best to just let go.

He is a toxic asset, an expensive blunder

But in this case it makes more sense to sell or send him out on loan and have another club pay his wages, or a portion of them. If we release him we still have to pay him what he’s owed on his contract.

This isn’t actually how it works at all. No successful company holds onto a toxic asset based in any way on how much it cost them. It doesn’t even come into the equation, even though that feels very counter intuitive.

The only question is if the asset is toxic and will it appreciate or depreciate in the future. The cost is an irrelevant distraction and rule 1 is to completely disregard it.

They mean ‘toxic’ in a business sense: a ‘toxic asset’. Means his stock is highly unlikely to rise.

He’s never going to either make us a financial profit or be an on-field success, so it’s best to cut our losses.

I keep looking at this thread in the hope we have cut our losses and sold him, not yet but I live in hope he has left.

For the amount of money he cost to buy, the wage he will be on, and the amount of money he has cost us in by failing in Europe (Ferencvaros and Midtyland) and least not to ignore the basic fact that everything goes through him like he's not there, he is without doubt the the worst goalkeeper in our entire history. Its not even up for debate.

We’ve accepted a bid for him from Turkey, but apparently he’s reluctant to go.

Absolute waster. In saying that, if I was earning £12,000 a week for doing * all, I’d be sitting pretty too.

He'd * love it in Turkey. It'll be like his holiday in Glasgow but hotter.

Transfer. A complete write off. As @Hammy89 suggested though, the * will probably push for a loan while it’s cold in Glasgow… :56:

And pay him his full remaining salary, plus damages, plus court costs, plus damage the club’s reputation for future recruitment? You sure? :39:

It’s one that absolutely has not worked out, but he has a contract and he has every right to sit on that if he chooses.
