I get that , so the person at fault must be Duffy for playing him onside ? Surely

Duffy is marking his runner he could have done better and held the line aye but any decent keeper saves that

More than one person can be (and were) at fault for a goal.

From memory it’s a loose pass from Moi that gives the ball away, so he’s at fault for that. Duffy then plays Goldson onside by dropping too early, so he’s at fault. Barkas should keep the header out, so he’s at fault. Each mistake compounds the one before it and results in a very cheap goal.

Most people are lookin at it this way I feel...Can't really blame him for not saving the first goal but also kinda get the feeling big FF would have saved it. So he's not at fault but if our previous goalie would have got to it then he kind of is.

Long and short of it......we're weaker between the sticks than last year.

Precisely, it was a weak header : slow, low and going towards him. It was a simple catch / stop.

From the camera behind the goal he almost seemed to allow it go past him.

I noticed that too.. The ball was more or less straight at his hand and he did not stretch it straight. Would want to see that in slow motion

Yep noticed this too. If he'd have stretched his arms out he'd have not only stopped the goal he'd have probably comfortably caught the ball as the header was so slow.

He watched the ball all the way from the free kick to the back of the net.

Should be saving that header...it was straight at him!

Didn't extend arms or nothing. Rubbish

That's the difference between a top keeper like Forster. Duffy makes the initial mistake but you would expect your keeper to pull you out of a hole to make that stop.

Dropping him will destroy his confidence, we need to stick with him now.

Think we could have saved 5 million and used bain.I am not really seeing why we gave 5 million for a keeper that looks no better than what we had already.
Ok maybe he is no different to anyone else and needs time to get used to everything, but this team does not have the luxury of time.

100% spot on. The question needs to be asked WHY was David Marshall not brought back? That 5 million could have been better resourced in another position. As a club we do squander a lot of money on average or poor players.
