Completely agree plus the fact that most of the games were played at a snails pace with players not wanting to be injured and in front of empty stadiums still it seems a total waste of time and effort to play them out.

    * internationals.

It's mental that International football is going on, squds of players from 15-20 clubs joining together with new coaching teams and staff they were never in contact with and mixing at full and youth level flying all over Europe mixing and staying in different hotels, using different airports, buses etc plus all these players have thier own families and friends who are mixing with other people.

Must massively increase chances of catching and spreading it.

NEW Celtic keeper Vasilis Barkas has admitted he will take time to adjust to Scottish football after his £4.5 million move to Parkhead.

The Hoops splashed out the money to AEK Athens in July for Barkas, who signed a four-year deal with the Scottish champions.

However, he suffered a disappointing start to life at his new club after Neil Lennon's side were surprisingly dumped out of the Champions League by Ferencvaros.

And Barkas, who helped his country Greece pick up four points from six in their two Nations League games after a draw in Slovenia and a win in Kosovo, accepts Scottish football hasn't been easy for him to fit into yet in an interview in a Greek radio show.

He said: "The Scottish league is different for me. I need to adjust to it and it's not easy.

"I am working hard each day and I am calm about it. Certainly, it will take me some time to adjust.

"At Celtic there is pressure on us to win the league.

But my team mates believe in me and they have been very warm with me and so have the people in Scotland.

"With each passing game, I will get more used to my team mates and learn from them. I will work to become a better keeper.

"I enjoyed the international break, although obviously it was very different this time with all the restrictions, but I was used to it because we are always testing in Scotland.

"We've started with two positive results and we are favourites to win the group.

Our manager, John van't Schip, wants us to get better and has been very hands-on and I think you could see the results this week.

"I have strong competition for the position of goalkeeper in the national team and that's a positive too."

Absolutely mental. Read some folk saying he ‘gives them the fear’ - based on what? :52:

Give the guy a * chance.

    Mental.

According to FlashScore he’s faced 8 shots on target in his 5 matches. He’s barely had a chance to show his qualities.

He’s been comfortable in the other aspects of his game.

Seen it a few time's already and it's utterly embarrassing..

Number 1 Greece keeper with plenty of experience at a high level with a lot of quality with his hands and on the deck....but being called a diddy or pish already..

    Laughable..

Was on the kds transfer thread and there's a bunch of them there suggesting we go in for Forster again and he'd be easily first choice. Terrific mindset that, buy Barkas for 5 million but punt him to the bench for a guy who clearly doesn't want to be here.

The fickleness of football fans in 2020 if part of the entire issue with the sport these days.

He’s not in any way pish (or you can’t call it yet).

However, you can bet your absolute bottom dollar that if Bain let those goals in versus Ferencvaros all * would break loose. Evidence? Look at the last couple of pages on his thread.

Just reinforces this idea of folk having favourites and thereafter basing performances emotionally rather than on actualities...

Surely no one is really judging him yet?

He's not really done anything wrong yet, nor anything special either. It is early days and the scouting was good on this one.
Lad needs a good run of games to be really tested and see his level.

Barkas is a much much better keeper than Bain and it won't take long to prove it..

There's 2 extremes here going on here. I don't think he's put a foot wrong personally but he's not being tested that much admittedly. The other end of the scale is guys who are holding him culpable for one if not both goals in Europe!!

I don't think the guy's looked nervous at all and think he's actually going to be quite a good presence behind that back line.

He looks capable, confident and comes across well. I get a right good feeling about him and think he's gonna be a right steal, hopefully he'll be here for a very long time and really flourish with us.

Yeah I think it is very harsh to lay blame fully at him for those goals. First one no keeper is catching that, any that does needs praised before we slate anyone who cant save it.
Second one the defence (and the manager for that formation and tactic and subs) sold us short, some debate he should have got something on it to stop it getting through, but the defence again was at fault there. It wasnt a keeper calamity.

Them aside, he only conceded was a pen against Killie, no one can be judged there.

3 clean sheets in his over games is 3 out of 5 clean sheets. I am happy so far with him.

Don't tell me some of our fans are being seduced by the media tactic of trying to put our players under pressure?
