    Reckon we’ll end up getting this guy. If 3.5mil was our opening offer can see deal being settled on £5mil plus add ons. For once just hope we don’t wait until the last minute.

    No point in the doing the same as usual, waiting until we are out of the Champions League to sign a replacement to a vital position. If this is the only goalkeeper we have in radar, stop haggling and give them what they want. Not signing a defender that was obviously needed cost us 40 million in European revenues until they finally signed Jullien.

    Leeds have just announced the signing of another GK on a 3 year deal. Hopefully means they aren’t looking at Barkas anymore, should make our negotiations a tad easier as PL club interest usually drives the price up.

    im not at all. Hibs had their valuation and we bid under it three times before we reached that valuation. Iv been consistent in that from the start.

    The original poster tried to claim they didnt want to sell to us, and that they wanted £4m, yet they accepted an offer from us in the area of £2.7m which disproves his argument.

    Yes 500k is a lot for a team like hibs. Out first bid was lower than £1.5m. Villas first and only offer was on Hibs valuation of £2.7m.

    this isnt secret knowledge, a simple search of the internet will show the facts.

    Another thing there.. “Hibs played Celtic”..

    Hibs didnt play anyone. They held out for an offer they thought was acceptable for their most valuable player. They accepted the first bid that came in on that valuation.
    How is that any different from when we sell to english teams? Van dijk? Tierney?
    Hibs didnt play us, Lawell made a * of it. Wake up.
