Yeah exactly, perfect scenario as he should get loads of games. And it wasn’t long ago we were looking at a striker from that league who’d scored a few was it if I remember correctly? So he does well and we either make a good sale or he has a career with us. Hope so as he seems a real nice guy. I understand the appreciation for klimala improving his fitness over lockdown; but I always thought bayo was better physically yet got no praise for that aspect of his game. Weird. Probably because he can’t have a nickname like polish paddy haha

CELTIC outcast Vakoun Bayo's loan move to Toulouse has been delayed after the French club's manager and assistant both tested positive for Covid-19.

The 23-year-old Ivory Coast striker has agreed to join the Ligue 2 side on loan in a bid to get game time after falling down the pecking order at Parkhead.

Bayo was pictured in a Toulouse strip and was expected to be announced officially on Saturday.

But the move is on hold after manager Patrice Garande, assistant Jean-Marie Huriez and two first team players all tested positive, forcing their weekend friendly against Rodez to be cancelled and the club to go in temporary lockdown

A Toulouse statement said: "Up to now, four cases have been confirmed - the manager, Patrice Garande, his assistant, Jean-Marie Huriez and two players. Furthermore, seven players will be tested again this weekend.

"Training will resume later this week, led by other members of the coaching staff."

Bayo has started just one league game and made eight substitute appearances in 18 months since signing for the Hoops and has netted against Partick Thistle in the League Cup and Clyde in the Scottish Cup.

    Delayed? The *?
Just sign the loan contract and scan it back to Celtic/governing bodies.

Which you would have thought would already be the case since he was paraded in a Toulouse shirt (Turnbull disaster aside ha).

I get the deal will still happen, but seems weird this is news and/or needs to be delayed anyway.

    BAYO MAKES TOULOUSE LOAN MOVE

Celtic striker Vakoun Bayo has signed for Toulouse on a season-long loan with the option to buy.

The Ivory Coast international joined Celtic in January 2019 and made 16 appearances in all competitions as he helped the club to two successive Scottish Premiership titles.

CELTIC can confirm that forward Bayo has joined French Ligue 2 side, Toulouse, on loan until the end of this season.

The 23-year-old moved to Paradise in January 2019 from Slovakian side Dunajská Streda, and has since made 17 appearances for the Hoops, scoring twice in that time.

The Ivorian striker will now move to Patrice Garande’s side for the 2020/21 campaign. Everyone at Celtic wishes Bayo well during his time in France.

Toulouse Football Club is strengthening its offensive sector. Ivorian U23 international, striker Vakoun Bayo committed this Wednesday with the club of the Pink City, where he is on loan for a season with option to buy.

And four! After the arrivals of Maxime Dupé, Steve Mvoué and more recently Branco van den Boomen , Toulouse Football Club is pleased to announce the arrival of a new reinforcement within its professional workforce. Hope of his country, Vakoun Bayo was elected best player of the Ivorian championship at the end of the 2014-2015 season, also receiving the golden shoe award of the championship, with 13 achievements registered under the colors of the Stade d ' Abidjan. All at only 18!

Now 23 years old, he already has five collective trophies to his name. Vakoun was titled in his first season outside his native Ivory Coast, in Tunisia with Etoile Sportive du Sahel (2016). His first steps in Europe were also widely commented, with eighteen goals scored and seven assists delivered in just twenty-four appearances for Dunajska Streda, allowing his club to climb to second place in the Slovak league, and to participate in the preliminary rounds of the European cups.

More recently, the native of Daola joined the Scottish championship and the legendary Celtic Glasgow FC in the winter of 2019. In the space of eighteen months with the Hoops , Ibrahim Sangaré's partner in the U23 selection won two championships, a national cup and a Scottish League cup.

The Toulouse Football Club and all of its supporters welcome Vakoun Bayo on the banks of the Garonne!

Seems a poor decision imo the guy hasn’t been given a proper opportunity. He is a very decent player and provides a different option to what we have. If we had to loan him we should have maybe done so domestically to Hibs, Killie or Aberdeen etc. He would score and potentially help take points from other clubs in our favour.

Obviously in training he hasn't impressed Lennon and he was already behind Eddy, Griff and Klimala. We cannot have too many strikers cluttering up the place.

It is almost as if the problem is not with the strikers we have, but bad judgement of the manager about their ability and "fitness"

It’s not just the strikers. Players need a chance here, but won’t get it. It’s as frustrating for us as it is for them.

I'm happy for him, he should have been given chances but a game here and there is never going to allow you to gel or have confidence

Anyone know how much the option to buy is?

If he goes on to score 20+ goals there we might regret putting that option in.
