FOLLOWING the 1-0 single-game win in Bosnia over FK Sarajevo in the play-off, Celtic have been drawn in Group H of the UEFA Europa League alongside Sparta Prague of the Czech Republic, Italians, AC Milan for the sixth time in Europe and Lille of France.

The draw took place at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland today (Friday) and the first tie is scheduled for Thursday, October 22.

Matchday two is on October 29, while there will also be two games the following month on November 5 and November 26.

That leaves Matchdays 5 and 6 with the first going ahead on December 3 and the final group stage game set for Thursday, December 10.

This is peak Celtic. In Pot 1 and still end up with a very difficult draw. AC Milan from Pot 3 and Lille from Pot 4.

Difficult draw but an exciting one. Truth be told there would be no easy draws unless we improve significantly between now and the first of these games.

We can top the group. Hopefully fans will be allowed back in time for the games. Barkas needs to perform like Fraser Forster. We can enjoy these games and we can and will win.

Tough draw for sure. Pretty much the same as last season with AC Milan for Lazio, Lille for Rennes and I would think Sparta Prague about a similar level to Cluji. Will need some big performances to get out of that group for sure.

I remember getting drawn against Barca Spartak and Benfica... and being confident we would qualify.

Last years group was probably more difficult than this years and we topped it.

If we can keep everyone and sign a good LB and winger then we are in with a shout.

I think it’s a very tough group tbh. The draw could’ve been kinder. We’ve drawn the 2nd top seeds from each pot! Ouch. However, we can beat these teams. Although these teams will also fancy their chances v us so we need to be up for it and put in solid performances.
Milan are not the force they were, Lille are a replacement for Rennes and I wasn’t overly impressed with them last year. Don’t know much about Sparta Prague tbh. But all winnable games if we turn up.
Having said all that, I’d be content with not progressing from the group as long as we have built up a lead in the league.

It’s much the same as last years group, really. Milan are a good side but nothing special. Lille finished behind Rennes in the league, albeit they’ve started this season very well. Sparta Prague is a team we should be looking to get 4 points off at least.

All that said, we’ll have to be much better than we have been so far this season.

I know UEFA announced today they want crowds in and will allow up to 30% of capacity but it's dependent on the country and health authority, no idea how we stand with this but my guess is there will be none allowed...if someone can offer me more reason to be optimistic I'm all ears

With fans present I would be excited with that group but without the fans I'm not chuffed tbh, I'd rather an easier group but I'm still looking forward to it.

"an absolute disaster for Celtic if they don't make the Europa group stages"

"no use Celtic turning up as they have no chance of getting out of the group".

Wonder how the club will deal with how supporters will be able to watch the games. I would like to think it will be included on the season ticket passes but you never know with Pedro
