With Celtic now in Europa League 2020/2021 competition starting in at least 3rd rd (possible play offs) here are our possible 3rd rd opponents and draw for 3rd rd on Tue 1st Sep.

3rd rd matches and play off matches are all knockout matches. If level after full time there will be extra time and then penalty shoot out if needed.
After Group stage the rd of 32 to semi final will all be home and away.

 

This Cup is beyond vital for us now,beyond vital.
And before anyone jumps the gun the League is beyond beyond vital.
So we MUST get in to the Group Stages Of this,MUST.
Unless we get the Huns put out 2nd String teams in the League Cup so the maximum effort can be hit and more in Europe b

I'm probably just an over reactionary dramatic teenager who's in his 30s but half those teams are better than we just faced. Were *.

 

I am beyond * off,angry and very upset about last night’s .uck up nightmare. We must all WILL our beloved Club into the EL Group Stages.

 

I don't want us in the Europa league. Group stage or otherwise. It will be a drain on a squad which by the looks of it is gonna have enough trouble achieving the 10. 10 IAR is by far more important than half a dozen games against the also rans of European football.

 

Tell you what why not stop playing in Europe or just field our reserves or youth teams from now on. Win 18 straight trebles but in all that time not a single match in Europe. The rest of the World will not be able to stop talking about us and endless queues of quality players fight to join us!!

 

We will do nothing in Europe this season because we are not good enough. We are good enough to win 10IAR. That should make it priority. Start from scratch with regard to European football once this season is over but for that we will need new tactics, players up to the job and a coach with tactical nous. The extra games the Europa league will bring will simply put more strain on a side which is starting to struggle. Getting our arses handed to us by the minnows of European football will do nothing for either our confidence or our reputation.

 

Tbh we shouldn't even be in this, 2005 was our last defeat in that round.

Fair enough CL playoff, teams should get a pass into it then, but not before.

Same. With all these teams. Finishing 4th. In their leagues and going into CL groups, they should be playing off against each other.

Might just be fun to watch the board squirm as they can't sell overpriced packages as it'll be an empty stadium.

Maybe it's all catching up with them and this could be the season it totally falls apart for them and finally realise what they've done.

Thats the perennial frustration with us...

Instead of building a Europe capable team that would also cruise the league... they wait to see what we qualify for before ‘maybe’ investing some cash in it.

Failing to prepare AND preparing to fail all in one tight fisted, penny pinching amateurish manoeuvre.
