One thing that's always made me chuckle is the so-called Socialists who complain about the TV licence. They say they shouldn't have to pay as they don't use it.

Does this confuse anyone else, or is it just me? :97:

I know its a long shot but browsing the governments e-petition page i saw this link

    http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/34655

If there is something like 70000 signatures the government is forced by law to bring this up in parliament, i urge people to sign it then repost on social outlets like Twitter/Facebook. As i said its a long shot but if we get enough people to sign there is a bigger chance of something being done about it.

Seeing some of the comments on this part of a forum i know there are plenty of people in TC alone that are fed up with an out dated and draconian system. As they say it takes a single drop or rain to make a river. So please sign up and lets get something done about it :)

The only good thing to come from the TV license is the Essential Mix on Radio 1 and for that I'm grateful to the TV License. BBC Radio is the only broadcaster in the world that can have the Essential Mix.

If i was to get 100's of millions per year, from people buying 'TV licenses' (how can you take money from a TV license and put it to another department of your company and no-one batters a eyelid baffles me) i could get the best DJ's from around the world to play a set every week also.

The DJs don't get much for being on the Essential Mix. They get to have their mix broadcast on the worlds most listened to radio programme and they only station that can have a 2 hour uninterrupted mix. In fact the DJs don't appear on it at all they send in a DAT or nowadays probably an MP3. If it wasn't for the TV license I wouldn't have got to hear some of the best mixes ever:

You are misunderstanding what the TV License is I think mate.

We pay this cost over and above what we pay for phoneline, internet and cable tv.

I could be wrong, but part of the Licence fee, also goes to Channel 4 as well. It is supported by part licence fee and advertising.

Someone might need to confirm this as accurate, but I believe it to be the case.

C4 is an independent company as far as im aware hence the overly used product placement, sponsors and adverts.

I don't pay for a tv license now as I have my elderly mum living with me and because she listens to soaps in her room the house gets one free. It's in her name :celt_2:

If people didn't want to hand over their money last year I can't imagine it'll be any easier this year after all the saville stuff has come out.

If infact it is proven that the bbc helped to cover up saville's abuse of children and others, i think it would be a joke for us to have to pay in to that.

C4 is a recognised public service broadcaster and does get some funding from the license fee, but most of their funding comes from advertising. the fee money goes towards educational programming

I dont pay for this meaningless tax, I only see this as another income for the British gvernment to keep millions coming in for the war machine.

The British government has said lately they are going to build 350 million poind submarines. They have a cheek to tax the work class while they moan about ecnomic structors and invest into triple digit millions of pounds nuk subs.

British government no more than a war machine to tax people for funding illegal wars. I got to say, people who believe into this bullshit of cutting back and pro-taxes ruins and ecnomoy. Tax the people more money out of the ecnomonic structor, less tax more money distraputed.

    * the TV licience.

Yeah my wife said some Indian guy knocked at the door claiming he can arrest people lol, they really are vermin these "officers", they pray on the weak and immigrants. I have known a few Polish mates that have said they were so scared after meeting these twats. I told my mate that they have * all power, and he felt like a pratt for it but that's message people don't hear as the BBC are so powerful and really scummy orgainsation how they deal with it.
