The fact that being punctual means nothing anymore. Nowadays if you're given a time for something it's usually to make sure you are there and nothing more. Here is an example.

If you're given an appointment at 12 there's a very high chance that you will be seen at 12:20 at the earliest. What's the point of giving a time if you wont honour it.
