Aye we'll have to go with Howe's judgement on this if it's true..

He's just looked pretty rank but his ex captain, only 29 and a problem position for us..

We don't have many leaders so if he was to come in I'd imagine we'll be looking at him as our successor to Broony..

I just wish we got Ben Davies over the line. If we had Howe in this season we could well have prized Toney and Davies here to play under him and both have quality and pace. Oh well..

Keep saying it but we really need a big injection of pace added in this summer window. Bit of power and presence in the air as well..

    Jullien. Duffy. Bitton. Taylor. Welsh
    Broony. Turnbull. Rogic. Mo.
    Ajeti. Griff.

Edouard and Christie aren't overly quick either..

    We need real pace..

Jullien is our only threat in the air. That needs to change also..

Wouldn't mind Smith, got experience at the back and we need numbers there. If we're gonna be linked with any Bournemouth player David Brooks is the one we want though.

    All lazy journalism though

Canny believe people are wanting the likes of Cook and Begovic to be honest.

I see the team being very similar to when Rodgers arrived. There's a lot of similarities here its almost deja vu for me.

One of the first things Rodgers did was add pace and power with Dembele and Sinclair. Would like to see the same again here.

Its been a big part of the reason this season has been an unmitigated disaster. Lack of pace and directness.

The squads in a far worse state than the one BR inherited. BR inherited alot of good players.

Rodgers walked into a squad consisting of Tierney, Lustig, Boyata, Brown, McGregor, Gordon, Armstrong, Forrest, Roberts and Griffiths (off the back of a 40 goal season). The only significant signings Rodgers added to the squad were Sinclair and Dembele.

Howe (if he comes in) is going to have Ralston as his RB, Taylor as his LB and Welsh as the only fit CB.

Ajer and Edouard will 100% be away as they only have 1 year left on their deal and the club can’t afford to lose them for nothing. Brown has already confirmed his departure. Barkas, Christie, Griffiths and Ntcham likely to join him.

From the players left the only ones worth keeping are McGregor, Turnbull, Soro and Forrest. Jullien as well but it’s a guessing game when he will be fit and if he will be the same player.

We basically need a whole new team out with two, possibly three positions.

Balogun and Bjorkan are good shouts.

Sadly I think Ahmedhodzic and Dike are already out of our reach. Ahmedhodzic has been linked with Chelsea amongst others and Dike has a $20m price tag already.

Josh King mentioned as a suggestion by some * and that’s a great shout. Not really happening for him at Everton.

Youssaf Sabaly, equally adept at left or right back. Senegal international.

Experienced and in his prime at 28.

Rani Khedira, can play as a commanding midfielder or centre back. 6’2, experienced footballer in the Bundesliga and is a leader. 27, in his peak.

Tomas Vaclik - Sevilla keeper, experienced in European, International goalkeeper. 32, also around his prime for a keeper.

Jetro Williams - Dutch International left back, again experienced in Europe. 27, peak age again.

Radu Dragusin - Young Juventus defender, 6’3, models himself on Van Dijk.

Just a cursory glance around the world - every single one of those guys is a bosman.

Typically free agents demand higher wages because the club buying them doesn’t have to pay a transfer fee.

Celtic won’t break their wage structure even if it makes business sense. We won’t pay someone an extra £5k per week even if it means saying £2/3M on a transfer fee.

We already have broken the wage structure everybody talks about. It’s no longer a thing and we have a new CEO in charge who might find it a better idea for slightly higher wages with not much an original outlay.

I’m also not saying all of them but theres guys out there that could be attainable who normally aren’t. Khedira and Vaclik would go a long, long way for us alone.

I completely agree that we should be targeting the free agent market, most of the names mentioned would improve our team/squad.

We need to be as cost-effective as possible in this summer window. The rebuild is huge and we need to improve all areas of the squad.

He will be one of the first to be linked should Howe sign.

I'm sure he's a free agent in the summer.

I think Everton have an option to extend his deal. They’d be mad not to if it means losing him for free.

They have he was brought in as a short term 6 month option, don’t think they want him, had zero impact there really.

Some good players there. Dragusin would be a good addition as an Ajer replacement and it’s the type of move that would benefit him in terms of actually playing senior football but will no doubt go to Chelsea or the likes and never play.

Another to add to the list would be Kenan Karaman who is getting his game in a very decent Turkey team, scored goals in Bundesliga last year despite his team getting relegated. Just turned 27 so good experience and is a bosman.

Sinsa Sanicanin a 25 year old Bosnian International left sided CB playing in Serbia or Akos Kecskes, 25 year old Hungarian CB playing for Lugano in Switzerland are both very decent CBs who are comfortable on the ball both around 6’3 and again bosmans.

There are also a good few talented players in Sweden who are out of contract in December, Daelho Irandust and Simon Olsen worth a look.

In addition, Patrick Berg who has just broke into the Norway team looks a good player but is under contract to December 2022.
