James McClean would be a bit of a weird one for me. Don’t really understand letting Jonny Hayes go just to bring him in

I'd say McClean is an upgrade on Hayes though

Would love to get McLean in, really need some athleticism on the left if we play 352.

Admittedly, I haven't seen him play a lot lately. Has he gone massively downhill? A few people less than excited about him but I feel that it would be a similar signing to Duffy.

Not the same standard as Duffy, belter of a signing for the banter tho but not a massive upgrade on Hayes or Taylor for me though.

McLean hasn't even made the bench in league games this season which I find worrying.

I don’t disagree that the signings have been good and some of these have come from scouting particularly Barkas and Ajeti, all be it the latter from his time at Basel as he played no football last year.

Turnbull Lenny wanted from when he got the job again, he said so himself and again played no football last year.

Duffy isn’t from scouting but is a good signing and Ely we brought back from last year and then we did so on the basis he tore us a new one in his Molde days, when we really should have bought him then.

The fact we haven’t brought in a new left back/wing back worries me. We signed two poor players last year and have known for a while it is one position we have to improve on.

Probably the no.1 position when football stopped in March, as there was hope FF would come back and Griff was getting back to firing on all cylinders. You could argue a left sided CB would have been the other main one and we have not brought anyone in there either.

Now I know situations change FF turning us down, Griff not being available and we moved for those targets quickly so credit there.

Anyway I agree a new left wing back in and we will be in a good position. I still feel a proper DM would be a good addition if Soro doesn’t seem up to it but we are not going to drop Brown anyway so they would be wasted.

Would be keeping an eye on Alan Campbell at Motherwell, think we were linked with him before, ran the midfield yesterday against Aberdeen and the 2 apparent best young centre mids in Scotland.

Possible future replacement for Broony and is only 22.

Don't mind it's taking a bit of time to get a LWB in, would rather get it right.

Think from Lenny comments it could go down to deadline day, I still think we will sign 2 players before deadline

I remember reading an article that compared their stats and he came out reasonably well from them. I can't say I've ever thought he's stood out exceptionally against us.

    Lot of nitpicking there mate..

Could our scouting be better? Probably

You have to factor in to account the mess the rat and Congerton left as well..

Hammond has been brought in and apart from left back...our quality of signings have been a high level..

You can't moan about aye well Lenny watched Turnbull year's ago. So. Means he's been well scouted and coveted for year's by our manager and then our scouting/recruitment team....which he has..

Same for Ajeti and Mo. We wanted them when they were in Switzerland but didn't get them as we were priced out. That model of taking title winning, European level talent who have been lost in amongst the pound noted in England is a smart one..

Duffy we've watched and wanted in the past..

    Barkas has been throughly scouted..

We've tried for Bakker in France. We want Doughty and that was from left field with Hammond personally watching him. We bid for Gyrano Kerk in Holland last window. Linked with Colley in Serie A. The list goes on..

I'm sure we're looking all over..

I'd like us to get a move on with the left hand side and thought with Boli going out and only Taylor left, that we'd have seen something on that by now..

I'd take McClean, would really suit the 3-5-2, I always thought he was like a more mobile Barry Robson, decent shot and cross, aggressive, good defensively, energetic and not really good pace but more than Taylor.

He'd be useless in 4-2-3-1 unless at left back but we have Johnston and Elyounoussi, for 3-5-2 he'd be really good. He's much better than Johnny Hayes.

If he was cheap or free on a 2 year deal he'd add good depth.

Guess it could be a domino effect, unfortunately it will be one of our main players being sold.

Think really only 1 or 2 players are needed, but then again we sell one of our main men then that changes.
