If Caulker can get to level he was at when he was at Spurs, Swansea ect he would be our best CB, him Ajer Jozo and Marvin would be a good bunch to have.

Definitely think we should go for him on a short term contract to see how he gets on.

Then sign him on a long term if he does well. With Brendan here I think it would be a good move for him.

Caulker would be a risk, pay as you play contract untill he shows he still wants it.
His heads gone by the sounds of it, but Celtic might just be what he needs, win win situation and all that.

Caulker would be a disaster I think. Has the talent but by all accounts he’s a pure *.

I think it'd be worth the risk but to be fair, I haven't seen him play in recent seasons.

If anyone can straighten him out, it's gotta be Rodgers, and if he really wants to hit the heights that were expected of him at one point in time, you'd have to think his next team is gonna be one of his last chances to do it. Get him on a reasonable wage for a 1.5 year contract. If he stays fit, and reliable on and off the park you can always extend him. If not, cut ties in the summer.

Crystal palace Martin Kelly ex liverpool right back just about out of contract and only 27 or Flanigan again right back, lustic is a fans favourite but needs competition and Ralstons not ready.

From what I have seen of Martin Kelly he isn’t any better than Lustig. He is also very slow from what I can remember.

Would take Jon Flanagan though. Had his injury problems but I was really impressed with him when he broke through under Brendan at Liverpool.

As some one posted on here recently he is similar to Tierney in the way he plays.

The big man down at Southampton is out of favour, what a homecoming that’d be.

Flanagan is much better than lustig, no competition I'd love to get him in

+Flanagan is from a good Irish Catholic family:ireland::50: and a very good player, know a couple of his uncles well, only problem he was arrested last week in Liverpool for a serious assault on a night out

Was just looking at players out of contract or who’s contracts are expiring soon.

I am a strong believer that Brendan should be backed for qualifying for two champions league campaigns in a row, getting in the Europa league after Christmas and the Van Dijk money and possibly Dembele if he leaves in January. He should be given money to spend but there is good players out there who could be picked up for nothing that would actually improve the team.

Some of these I don’t know a lot about but some in there would be great signings. Some more likely to happen than others.

These are just the free agents and players with contracts expiring soon. Definitely want a decent money to be invested in certain areas. Not in projects but quality that will go right into the side.

There will obviously be others that we could buy that would be better options than some of these listed.

    Goalkeepers

    Pepe Reina (Napoli)
Unlikely it would happen but a very good keeper who has very good distribution. 35 now but would be a huge upgrade on Gordon.
Would imagine he would be on a decent wage at Napoli.

    Tim Krul (Brighton)
    Lucas Hradecky (Frankfurt)
    Joel Robles (Everton)

    Defenders

    Bacary Sagna (Free Agent)
    Steven Caulker (Free Agent)
    Jan Kirchhoff (Free Agent)
    Andreas Granqvist (Krasnodar)
    Davide Santon (Inter)
    Florentin Pogba (St Etienne)
    Nevan Subotic (Dortmund)
    Mitchell Dijks (Ajax)

    Midfielders

    Lassana Diarra (Free Agent)
    Sergio Canales (Real Sociedad)
    Zlatko Junozovic (Werder Bremen)
    Omar Abdulrahman (Al Ain)
    Dani Garcia (Eibar)
    Junior Hoilett (Cardiff)

    Strikers

    Facundo Ferreyra (Shakhtar Donetsk)
    Takumi Minamino (Red Bull Salzburg)

I'd take Dijks from Ajax for sure. Pretty certain he can play both sides as well, so would give us a better RB option and give Tierney a legitimate challenge down the left.

Think he has played at cb as well in the past.
Would be a great option to have.

Mind we tried to sign before he went to Ajax.

Yeah I've always liked him as a player, doubt we would go for him though

    Nah, * that *.

Knocked us back to go to Ajax, would rather have Pogba anyway.

I wouldn't hold that against him. Knocked us back to play for one of the better teams in his own league. Has plenty of European experience.
