Italy in my eyes us the best training ground for players if that calibre the league creates quality centre backs every year juventus have been tapping them up for years chillini barzagli bonucci. Then go back further to Nesta Maldini cannavaro.

We said that about oneil now we have rodgers these things come in cycles because celtic is such a special club but I think your right in what your saying aswell use the opportunity we have to make an impact and who knows players might stay because of it

It took ten years after O'Neil to get to a stage where we could maybe get close to the things he acheived. In europe especially. We cant waste this. Back him to the hilt. Dont get me wrong, WGS and Lennons teams were very good but limited. Having guys now like Roberts, Dembele and Tierney leaves us with a huge oppurtunity to make an impact. We had better take it.

 

Yes I get what you are saying under Lennon and wgs at times felt in europe we get first goal we have a chance with Brendan if you just look at the attack ... If we lose first goal we still have a chance to go on and win because attack is that good

Love Martin O'Neill but credit to Lenny and WGS they had nowhere near the money Martin had and both got to the last 16 of the CL. Granted the football is way better to watch under Brendan

 

You loan them out that's how they get to develop mate

 

Didn't have to do it with Tierney I think they develop better in a celtic first team were they have more of the ball

Tierney like Forrest and mcgeady before him is an exception.

They also need to learn to defend so a season or even half season on the back foot might do them world of good

 

Well I see what Rodgers wants celtic has small wage structure because of Scottish football cut the wage bill by not having stand ins so you can get a first eleven of higher paid players of quality and have the kids on edge of squad as back up and picking up opportunities when someone needs rested

My prediction:

We won't sign anyone else for more than £2 million and we will get one more players in, possibly a loan.

Bringing Denayer, Jon Flanagan and Edouard in would be a fantastic end to the window.

If Rodgers could get Denayer back to the form he previously showed at Celtic then he'd be the perfect partner for Jozo.

Flanagan played by far the best football of his career under Rodgers at Liverpool. If he could get back to that then he'd become our first choice right back, whilst also being an able deputy at left back. This could allow us to loan out Ralston/Miller to gain some more frequent first team experience.

A third choice striker with potential, especially given our recent injury record, would be the icing on the cake.

 

If we don't sign anyone, next summer is gona be fun! Roberts back to city, Armstrong potentially away? A lot of folk believe dembele will be away, Gordon, lustig, brown all one year older.

Before the end of the window id like us to buy a CB and loan a backup striker.
Longer term maybe January time I'd like to see a full back and a younger goalie come in.

But I'm happy with whatever Brendan's approach will be he said he's after 2 players, I just hope the board are fully backing his plans!

This window has been great so far. Champions league class CM in, PR back for another year, a backup winger which we missed last season. And young benyu in to try him out. Ajer, Miller, ralston, eboue will all be like new signings too

 

Dont think anything else will be done. Just got that ohh so familiar feeling with 24hours to go.

 

Doomsday in here as well..
