    loved him as a player and he's a tim through and through, McGrain, Boyd, McNamara and now KT i've been lucky to see some great fullbacks who loved our club. Though picking Gould in goals in his Celtic dreamteam explains why he didn't go into management

    It's not surprising or disgusting..

    Watt was a current Celtic player during the site's existence, Tom wasn't.. so it's natural that he would be discussed more. He's still playing too..

    It's no reflection on how much the fanbase appreciates Tom.

    Celtic legend as far as I'm concerned. Captained the team that stopped the 10, hate to make the dead club relevant in anyway to our success but it was in our interest and our credibility that we stopped the 10, and lead us to our first treble in 30-32 years?

    Met him several times. Always used to sign ma programme when I stood at the tunnel as a kid, when most others walked past. His reaction at the final whistle of stopping the 10 was great. Great servant and still is hosting the hospitality suite.

    I know man, * *. Big Marc Rieper, wish we got more than the one year outta him, was an injury that * him eh :54:

    I used to cut the wee pictures of the Celtic players out of the Celtic view years ago and frame them, had one frame dedicated to Rieper :giggle1:

    Love the guy. Said a while ago on here he should go down as a legend for our club after the service he gave and the trophies he won as captain no less.
    He loves the club as well and when certain other ex players were laying into us when things were going tough for Deila he defended us - and some people have him dogs abuse for it on here.
    Shame on them.

    He played in some * teams and with some * players for us but he gave his all and you could tell his class no matter who he played with.
    He was a very underrated player, completely two footed and had a great cross with either and read the game very well.

    We deserved laid into under Ronny, one of the things I love about us is we don't stick out heads in the sand and sit getting told we're so wonderful when things are going to * like the mob over the other end of the city.

    Saying that, Tam's an eternal optimist, canny criticise him for that.

    Reiper was one a my favourite players during that period. Such an assured player and was ahead of the style we had then.

    True we were * at times. My gripe was the way the press and ex player were doing it and in particular what they were saying - using words like clown, clueless etc
    This was after he'd been in the job a few months!

    I said at the time we should have rallied round the manager so early in his career when the press attacked us - we all know their leanings and motivations.
    Felt at the time Tom was one of the only guys trying to do so.

    Deila turned out * as well all know but at that time it felt quite wrong to attack him they way some ex players did so soon.
