I could think of 3 premiership team without thinking about it that he would start for. Ross County being probably my own preferred choice (over Livingston and Kilmarnock)

Cork City FC are delighted to announce the loan signing of Tobi Oluwayemi from Celtic.

The goalkeeper, who has been capped up to Under 19 level by England, will join Colin Healy’s side until the end of June, and he told CorkCityFC.ie that he was pleased to have sealed the move: “I’m really happy to be joining Cork City. I think this is a fantastic opportunity for me to do this. When I first heard that Cork City were interested, it was a move that I thought could be very good for me. I know Barry Coffey well from his time at Celtic, and he had a lot of good things to say about the club, about where the club want to go and the supporters. I am looking forward to getting over to Cork and meeting everyone.”

City boss Colin Healy welcomed the news saying: “We have been working on this for a while and we are delighted to get Tobi in. We have a very good relationship with Celtic, and we appreciate their help in getting this deal done. Tobi is a very talented lad, and we are looking forward to working with him over the coming months. He will strengthen our squad and I am looking forward to seeing him in training next week.”

Good that's it's league football, but I'd have liked a higher level than that

A very strange move that one I expected him to go to a higher level than that. I suppose it will be harder for keepers given the nature of the position. He’s still young right enough.

I would imagine he will be the first of a few to go out on loan before the end of the month.

Yeah thought he would've got a better move than that tbh.

Be well hard for a keeper his age to go and get guaranteed game time. Probably at a level around the same and some sides better than our own championship and even some top flight sides possibly..

    Be good experience..

If he's first choice I'm all for it. Needs game time and hopefully we can have our future no.1 break through

    Cork, honestly not sure.

The level isn't great at all.

Seen plenty of players get loaned to that sort of level and it's generally just to get them somewhere. Seldom does a player take that level of a loan move and become a first team player at Celtic - if ever?

It's perhaps a little different for a keeper at his age (though recently seen it not pan out for others), if it's just to get him game time and build him up to taking a loan to a County or United or something?

But nah, initial thoughts are, it's not a great move.

    But....
Ange speaks well of him and Ange seldom does wrong.

Bit of an odd move. Pretty sure Hazard and Doohan had better loans at similar ages.

Playing first team football is the next step though so guess it's a positive.

I'd guess it's probably a lot harder to get a young keeper off somewhere they'll actually get regular minutes compared to an outfield player, it's not a position you want to be swapping out very often if at all.

It's underwhelming yes but to be fair the LOI premier division is more akin to the second tier in Scotland with the better sides comparable to the bottom of the spfl. Lets not forget in this current season Sligo Rovers knocked Motherwell out winning 2-0 in Sligo and winning 1-0 at Fir Park.

Wouldn’t be far off league one in England tbh. Premier division in Ireland been decent last couple years

Personally, I'd consider it about on par with Scottish Premier League level club's, certainly the bottom half anyway. I think this is a very good move for all concerned and hope he grabs it with both hands (no pun intended). Gets games and experience and maybe he can push for 2nd keeper spot...

I would agree with that. The top LOI teams would be on a par with the bottom half of the SPFL.

Hopefully he does well on the loan and comes back experienced and ready to develop further.
