The problem i think with shakes and things is that a lot of people will reduce their calorie intake by quite a bit, lets say you used to eat 3000 calories a day, now you have gone down to 2000 while also exercising the problem when you increase from 2000 to 2500 after a few months of that workout/diet regime is that your body is used to working at a level of 2000 calories, when you increase to 2500 thats actually more than your body needs because its metabolism isn't at the same as when you started the diet.

When you exercise and do weights i would recommend a maximum of 800 calorie deficit. You don't want to be starving your body.

aye, a lot of these weight loss pills just * with your body. make you * and * like nothing else. so technically it helps you lose weight, but youve still got the same amounts of fat, only now your dehydrated and have little energy too.

In my opinion knowledge is the key to everything try and learn as much as you can about nutrition, lifting weights and everything else that goes with it.

I suggest bodybuilding.com to people looking to read up on things especially the forums there lots of articles and mountains of Information about every aspect of eating well and keeping fit, losing fat or weight bulking up supplement guides everything really.

And as for weight loss shakes and weight loss pills are not necessary as you shouldn't be looking for a quick fix you should be looking to change your full lifestyle in the way you eat and train and enjoy what your doing, the result is a healthier physically and mentally you for the rest of your days :)

I used to go on the treadmill for an hour a day and done it for about 3 and a half weeks without missing a day, went away for a weekend and have been on it about 5 times in 4 month :56: keep thinking ill start going back on but then just cant be bothered! Im going to start again on Monday or I plan to anyway ill see how it goes. I used to change speed all the time go 4.5mph for 5 minutes then up to 7 for 5 minutes then down to 3 for 5 then up to 7 etc so it was split between walking, walking fast/jogging and running so I could last an hour also broke it up a wee bit rather than going at the same speed all the time.
