What even is the financial fair play thing? Is it even a thing anymore?

He is the right fit for any club on the planet for the next decade at least.

In defence if city....(how an i even saying that)

Haaland has a stupidly low release clause rumored around £75mill...

I'm sure a club like city and its revenue is able to get around making that signing plus his wages...then with the moving on of Jesus and few others, they've probably got enough still to go out and spend another £80mill on signings.

If ffp meant anything huns wouldn't be playing in Europe.

But Man City have financial power, to generate multiple streams of revenue to stay within ffp...that being selling multiple reserves who get scouted and swept up by their machine, marketing of the brand, selling top players and releasing their wages.

    Dortmund with a replacement sorted.

Doesn’t come with the goal scoring record Haaland did but should still be a good signing for them.

With Musiala and Wirtz supplying him.

Can see them winning something under Flick.

What Man City have paid for Haaland is just * mind boggling and has made a mockery of transfers that cost more than him.

Granted Haalands team in the first place were able to negotiate such a ridiculous release clause, but to get an already established talent and one of the world's best players in the game for * £50something mill is outrageous business.

I guess if he didn't have the release clause he's only moving if someone comes in for £150mill plus but with a release clause he had, there was a fair few clubs, not just disgusting rich ones like City, PSG and Newcastle that could have afforded him.

I’m guessing he will be on millions a year and a huge signing on fee but still a strange price, as folk like Grealish will be on mental wages too,

Wages are reportedly around £350k a week I think it was...at least he's meant to be matching KDB.

What's crazy is without the release clause he's probably still signing for a club and getting wages around £275k even with a transfer fee of easily above £150mill which him and his team would also receive a fair chunk of.

Football is * up with these types of wages for sure....but I'd argue because of the release clause he must have been one of the most affordable players out there for teams at that level to sign.

Not saying he'd go to any of them as he is saying he's got attachments to city due in part to his dad most likely.

But clubs like. PSG, Newcastle, Chelsea*?, Real Madrid, Man Utd, Bayern Munich could have all arguably afforded him long before now if that release clause was always there.

Definitely thought he was joining Madrid tbh.

    Vini Benzema Mbappe
    Camavinga Modric Valverde
    Mendy Militao Rudiger Carvajal
    Courtois

Would have been good opponents for us in the CL final next season.

He probably wants to but seems he doesn't want to ruin his reputation with PSG by leaving them for free, he'd probably be hated by them forever after it. Still young enough top stay for another 2-3 years or at least one and leave more respectably.

Liam Miller was hated by us for leaving for free and he wasn't that good, never played much and didnt cost us anything.

Just read up on the mbappe deal and I cant even believe that it's a real thing. The money is beyond absurd but giving a player power in decisions on what managers are hired and players are signed is madness.
Couldn't be good for the dressing room either.

Money in football is a * cancer and its getting worse

The Mbappe deal is bizarre but Real clearly can’t handle not getting everything they want

Him and Camavinga for the next decade at club and country potentially.
