It's the reason why I was surprised when people thought us going over £3 million for Sinclair was too much. :smiley-laughing002:

Certainly a much better deal than £25m for Yanick * Bolasie :56::56::56:

And they wonder why their best are nowhere near the best of Europe, or even their middle cluster of teams are nowhere near as good as their European counterparts. :smiley-laughing002:

They've built their own wee economy that lies in a bubble that only they operate in, which over-inflates their sense of ability and standing.

They could have teams full of world class players but they * so much on EPL fodder that its totally wasted.

They are an embarrassment that EPL lot. If they really were the "best league in the world" why aren't their 4 teams wiping the floor with teams in Europe season in/season out?

When was the last time one of their teams won the CL? Was it Chelsea under di Matteo??

Barca have agreed to sign Jasper Cillessen for £10m as a replacement for Bravo :97:. Diego Alves and even Pepe Reina are better options than Cillessen.

No other teams outside of England would * the kind of money on players they do.
But they don't have to worry about resale values or investing wisely because the huge TV deal will keep them affloat.

The danger is, the clubs have become that obsessed with reaching (and staying in) the Premier League that they've sacrificed development and progress in Europe to achieve 'success' in their own little habitat.

The strength in depth down South is incredible, and we've seen it strech into the 2nd tier in recent season, but their top teams are no longer elite and their national team is garbage.

Yeah, never been that impressed with Cillessen. He's great with the ball at his feet but he's just a little above average with his shot stopping.

Strange one. Though it would have been Diego Alves.

Cillessen is bang average. Made a howler recently for Ajax.

    Ter Stegen surely number 1?

When Ter Stegen comes back from injury, he will deffo be number 1. Bravo will be a big miss, but it's time for Ter Stegen to prove he is good enough

If he goes for £25m what would Van Dijk cost?

There's a decimal point missing between the 2 and 5.

Seen that this morning, £25m for Jonny Evans.:56: They've set the precedent down there so that even the most average * will go for crazy dough. Its gonna continue for a while yet as well.

Absolutely sickening but sadly I'm growing used to it.
