    Not a train anorak but do like travelling by train, although ship wins it for me!

    Favourite journey in uk is Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh...
    Like Glasgow central as it was our meeting place before games and nights out with mates in town, loved the old number boards that gave the platform departures.

    Tokyo station is like a city, just bonkers... Love the trains in Japan. Like travelling in a spaceship and the speeds ( although you don't notice it) are amazing. Did 2500km recently and every single train came in on time and left on time. Puts our Clanky overpriced system to shame. Stations are spotless and even though always busy... It just works!

    Took this old train up to a glacier near the Matterhorn. Must be about 100 years old. Some amazing views tho.

    The mountain itself makes a creaking noise that echoes through the valleys due to all the ice breaking off.

    Worked at Regents park station in London.
    hated the job but loved the wages.
    So many * heads went through the station abusing the staff and then expecting our help after being abusive.
    * that.

    I hate train spotters.Weird * stood at the far end of the platform at Glasgow Central taking pictures of the train as it pulls in.I'd lock them up for espionage.

    Had the experience of the Frecciarossa whilst in Italy last year, used it between Milan, Florence and Rome. Also had my first trip on a TGV in France too. Loved them.

    They know how to do trains over there.

    moscow underground stations take a bit of beating but its got to be Coatbridge sunnyside with the 1888 stone frontage.

    I love the smell and atmosphere of train stations. I regularly walk through Central Station just for the smell and atmosphere. Absolutely love train journeys. My wife and I were once on a double decker train going from Elzach in Germany to Basle in Switzerland. What a journey that was. Scenery was stunning.

    I’ve done a double decker from Paris to Geneva, scenery was unreal. Also Milan to Zurich. Breathtaking.

    Love the wee journey into Central from Langside or Cathcart, but the best station I was in was the Deli in Budapest, true old Soviet atmosphere and vibe.
